Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
We had a lovely stay at the Apex Waterloo in October. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring Edinburgh. I would definitely stay there again on my next visit.We loved all of the special touches (the little ducks) and the swimming pool/sauna. Thank you to the staff at the Apex, you made our visit even more special. Cheers!

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
Me and my sister stayed in room 503. We have just checked out after staying here for ten days. Well what can I say, the service has been fantastic, the staff have been really attentive, even picking up that I haven’t been well and bringing soup and chamomile tea to my room! They just seemed to go the extra Mile to make sure we were ok. We had a difficult time as we were there mainly to go to trial at the high court. They even brought me out some cake on my birthday which meant so much. It just felt like they really cared and that’s exactly what we needed. The rooms were always clean and refreshed when you wanted it to be. We slept reasonably well. I mean your always going to get a little noise as your dead in the city centre but we felt well rested. So far this is actually the best hotel I’ve stayed in in terms of service. Oh and when we first checked in we had a box of chocolates, platter of fruit, rubber duck and a welcome note. It’s things like this that sets them apart. Onward home now back to Colchester, Essex. Thanks again to all the staff you should be proud of how you treat your guests. Xx

Beautiful boutique hotel at a fantastic location.Hop on hop off buses right across the street, walking distance from the main area.European outlet, lovely rooms, gym and pool available.Bathtub, hot water boiler and mini fridge in your rooms.Great service! Highly recommendFire alarm tests Mondays at 11am.

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
5 star staff running a 2 star hotel.Spent a few nights here. Excellent location. The staff on the most part are amazing. Especially front of house and bar staff. Nothing is too much trouble. But, would be better if they weren't sorting problems out. Two of us staying in the room (clear on the reservation) on check-in, only one towel in the room. Little things like only enough milk for one drink, one biscuit in the tray.. reception staff sorted this quickly. Then the next day, on our return at 4pm, the room hadn't yet been serviced (Staff were just getting to it). We went to the bar while it was done, but surely that is late to be room servicing.The room. Nice and spacious, bathroom had a newish feel to it. Bed was ok, but the pillows are those that go flat after you lie on them for 10 minutes, making for an uncomfortable sleep, constantly re-plumping them.Being an old building, you can hear everything going on outside. Constant traffic noise, people walking by, street cleaning at 5am. Investment in better windows or sound deadening is needed. I had to check they were actually closed at first !! Oh, we were also on the top floor, furthest from the street. The view was fabulous tho.Would I stay again. In short. No. Plenty other places to try next time.

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
I have just had a fantastic weekend staying in the Apex with three friends. The hotel was so close to the railway station which was great, and the hop on hop off open top tourist buses are just across the road from the hotel. We took full advantage of them great value £15 for 24 hours.The hotel was lovely and clean, rooms were spot on. The staff were all very helpful, in particular Laura on reception who went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Thankyou we will be back.

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
An incredibly well situated and well appointed hotel with great attentive and friendly staff. Spacious quiet rooms offer a respite from the bustle. They have a well stocked main floor bar and sitting area. You can easily access all the best that Edinburgh has to offer. A short walking distance from the train terminal and only a 25 minute drive from the airport. It’s on the edge on the New Edinburgh side… with plenty of restaurants, activities and shopping a stone’s throw from the the main entrance. Calton Hill is but a minute walk away and offers spectacular views of the city… well worth the minimal hike to its plateau.

Stopped for lunch on a brief visit to the city. We were warmly greeted by Andrew in the dining room who offered attentive service throughout our visit. The food was well presented and tasted delicious. We would definitely dine here again.

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
We reserved a room for two nights in late October. We arrived and were met by very friendly and courteous staff at the front desk. Our room was on a lower level which turned out to be quite cold, but when we spoke to the front desk, staff responded immediately and moved us promptly to an upper floor. The room was spacious, very well appointed, and very clean. The view was spectacular. Overall, the hotel is beautiful and situated perfectly in the centre of Edinburgh. We felt that it was well worth the money (reasonably priced!). Again, the staff at the Apex Waterloo are friendly and spoke/behaved in the most professional manner. No reason to stay anywhere else in Edinburgh!

Comfortable spacious rooms. Breakfast was excellent. Had dinner in the restaurant - food was delicious. Hotel well situated for station, Princes Street and Royal Mile.
