the staff are really friendly and helpful, came in today to have a look round for my Nan. The deputy manager who showed us around was very helpful, friendly and he answered all of our questions. The home was very clean and well looked after also the staff where very polite. I’m definitely going to consider this home for my Nan.

Wouldn't let them look after my dog if only we knew sooner !..... absolutely the worst care home I've ever come across! If u want your relative to be well looked after peaceful and die with some dignity don't put them in here absolutely shocking

It was a lovely place when my parent first went in there, but it slowly got worse most of the younger carers would all congregate together on there phones, ignoring the residents unless they notice you there, then they would be concered, there are few lovely carers there that will do anything for the residents. Also there is no entertainment for them whats so ever sitting there day in and day out listening to the same music just doesn't comply as entertainment. I have a video of my parent trying to dance to the music but all you hear is a carer swearing not very professionally at all, A lot of my parents stuff went missing we would replace it and it would go missing again and management didnt care and still don't. if I was you thinking of putting your relative in there think again its gone a horrible place.

My own partner is a care support worker , and i know how hard they work in these roles so for me posting a review that is less than positive is bitter sweet. My mother was in Lyndon for almost a year. In general i found most carers willing and helpful, although there were one or two who were always rude and abrupt and very unhelpful. The main issues seem to come from lack of leadership and communication. During her time there were 3 different managers in place. It was very common to see groups of carers sat around a work station chatting or on their phones messaging , and whilst i recognise the need for a break or that we all may send the odd text while at work , to see the same group sat there at the end of your visit that were there at the start suggests something different. The manager always seemed to be in their office and rarely out on the floor getting a feel for what was happening in their building. There were lots of issues with lost clothing even though everything was named tagged, 7 pairs of trousers , two dressing gowns and 2 pairs of shoes among many other items that went missing. Other peoples clothes , massively oversize for mom would end up in her room , even though they were obviously not mom's. There were even kids clothes, explain that one!Communication was also poor, mom had a few falls , and we would get different information of her injury and how it happened each person we spoke to. its very difficult to het through on the phone to speak to anyone, if your lucky to get through , you get transferred to the managers office which more often than not rings out until you get cut off.i didn't see any of the activities they advertise for residents taking place at any time.Moms room had broken furniture , which went for weeks unfixed, even though it was potentially quite dangerous.Trying to balance , covid protocols were good,, the place was always clean , and in respect to the carers, as already mentioned ,there were some good diligent carers who were friendly and helpful and wanting to do a good job , but they are badly let down by the others and by the leadership. Everything i have said here and more was raised with the management to allow them to address it but nothing changed. In the end we moved mom. This is an honest genuine review , and i have tried to share positive and negative. Maybe someone from Lyndon will read it and maybe do something , but i doubt it . 3 stars

Iv'e never had to write a review before so this is the first. The service here mostly was good as far as iv'e heard. However, one worker in particular makes me wish i could give this review 0 stars. It was absolutely disgraceful the behaviour my friends received from this place for work experience. The worker had blonde, curly, short hair and wore black square glasses. My friends had to leave work experience due to the rudeness and unprofessional-ism displayed by this member of staff. This lady was in a very peculiar mood and decided to curse repeatedly and show very aggressive attitude towards her job and the work experience students. Shouting, lying, cursing and being rude to volunteers should most certainly not be tolerated in a working environment. I am very surprised how a person with this attitude was allowed to work in the health and care industry looking after mentally ill, elderly people. Very disappointing.

Both of my parents were residents at Lydon Croft at different times. Under the management of Gill my father received outstanding care. However, from 2014 to 2020, when my mother was in care there, the story was very different. It all started very nicely with her individual needs being met. As her dementia progressed I felt some, not all, staff lost interest in mum. In addition her personal items went missing frequently despite being clearly named. Mum had 14 nightdress. On one visit none could be found in her bed, drawer or laundry. I was offered an oversized an clearly stained alternative for mum. I went straight to the shops and bought more for her. Het toiletries disappeared at an alarming rate and the son of the then manager told me that members of staff borrowed" from residents who "had lots" for residents who had nothing. I paid for those items. It's theft. I was given codes to access areas that were supposed to be secure and told where keys were hidden to access food supplies. I was offered free food to take home from kitchen staff on more than one occasion. The cleaning staff are incredible and do a brilliant job. One girl on particular

I would give Lyndon Croft a massive thumbs up. It's one of the most cleanest well kept, incredibly caring home I know of. They actually care for the residents identifying their individual needs. My mother's been in there for a year nearly and I've got no complaints whatsoever.
