5 stars are not enoughThe ladies that own this shop are rare gems. The lovely energy they project is infectious and their love of books apparent from the minute you walk in. Rare Birds Book Shop
Long time lurker on IG and finally managed to visit this in person when in Edinburgh. Glad I did! Such a lovely and warm bookstore with beautiful interiors. Went there on a Friday just before closing time. Had the bookstore to myself. The two ladies at the counter were very friendly and didn’t rush me at all. Great book selection so I ended up picking up a few items even though my luggage is already overloaded! Would totally recommend.

Lovely independent local bookshop with great selection and welcoming staff. Also dog friendly, and runs events in the evenings!Has books in every genre and books for everyone; while doesn't hold books written by men, has plenty of books that would appeal to men, so highly recomend to all.

Rare Birds Book Shop
I really wanted to visit and support this book shop since it carries books from female authors. The books were well displayed and there was plenty of space to move around. It's worth checking out instead of the mainstream bookshops.

Rare Birds Book Shop
As their name suggests 'Rare', for me meant rare as in perfect, helpful assistance in sourcing books otherwise unavailable on usual book selling sites. Rare as in brilliant service. I live in England so distance hasn't been an issue with rapid posting from this awesome shop and staff. Yes! I highly recommend.

So in love with this bookshop! Loads of amazing contemporary stuff with queer and female writers, so much to discover. I asked the lovely Sara for reccommendations and she was the most helpful! it was so great it is a lovely space to be in :)
