Maida Table Spread | Welcome to Maida Table Spread The name Maida is pronounced Maaida and simply means a table spread of food, dining table or banquet. Maidah is amongst the North East’s most fashionable and contemporary British Indian restaurants, regularly rated 5 stars by respected lifestyle and food magazines. It has been elegantly furbished to provide our customers with a fresh ambience and a premiere chic Indian dining experience with a twist. At Ma'ida we have been inspired by the food our families love and enjoy and our passion is to bring the same traditional homely cooking to our customers. Our menu truly represents the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent, with great emphasis placed on sourcing the freshest ingredients. All dishes represent distinct cooking styles of the different regions of South Asia and are not a permutation of a generic base sauce, a method which has become common place for British Indian Restaurants. Do not hesitate to specify your preferred level of spice and if there is anything you would like to alter when placing an order. Any dish which does not appear on the menu can be prepared on request or cooked specifically to your taste. Some dishes may contain traces of nut, so please be careful with your selection and inform the management of any known allergies. While the food isn't exactly mind-blowing, it's perfectly serviceable and hits all the right notes, albeit somewhat lackluster.The menu offers all the classic Indian dishes that you'd expect, but unfortunately, they don't quite live up to the high standards of authentic Indian cuisine. The flavors are somewhat muted and lack the complexity and depth that make Indian food so beloved. However, the portions are generous, and the presentation is nice, so it's certainly not a bad dining experience by any means.Where this restaurant really shines is in its service and atmosphere. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and attentive, ensuring that all guests feel right at home.The atmosphere of the restaurant is also lovely, with tasteful decor and just the right level of lighting and background music. Outstanding customer service weather you visit the restaurant or order by phone for a take out staff are always pleasant food is always very nice and hot I’ve been to many restaurants over the years this the best by far

I ordered a vegetable Pathia (a sour curry) and a mottar paneer with peas and paneer cheese. Asked for them both to have lots of extra chilli.Collection time was prompt and the naan was very nice.Unfortunately both curries were bland, little flavour, little chilli, almost identical in flavour and texture, and both drowning in oil.They're obviously made of a generic liquidised onion and tomato sauce, and they tasted really sweet, as if full of sugar.I was able to pour off about three or four tablespoons of oil from each one but unfortunately it's all I could taste.I ate most of them as I was hungry and couldn't be bothered returning them, but never again. Yuck.

This was our first and last visit. Got one of our meals wrong. The young waiters were floating around like they didn't know what to do and for the service charge that was discusting. Yes I will tip but at my own discression.
