We had a meal and both the scallop salad and the seafood platter was devine. The bread which came with the platter was the best bread I have ever eaten.

Booked this as we had family visiting and fancied something different. The last time I was here 10 or more years ago it was a bit fushty and mostly disappointed. I read that it was new owners so decided to give it a shot. Excellent food, value and service. The dedicated gluten free menu was greatly appreciated by the coeliac in the party who felt catered for rather than a begrudging afterthought. Definitely on out regular list now.

Had dinner and drinks at the Crown & Anchor over a couple of nights. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and a superb gin / whisky selection!

We underestimated travel time and were very late for our reservation, but they were wonderful and got us seated anyway. My husband says this was one of the best hamburgers he had on the whole trip (and he had a lot of burgers!). Would recommend!

The location is fabulous, a stones throw from the river. Peaceful and the views of the sunset beyond excellent. The bar and restaurant is full of character and old Scottish charm. The food in the evening was very good at a reasonable price. A varied menu that catered for every taste. The restaurant was full of mostly visitors. A very popular place. Breakfast was very good with generous portions, unlimited tea and coffee. The rooms have all the amenities you require for a comfortable stay , including delicious biscuits.Disliked · The rooms are very small but serviceable. In room 1. The kettle had to be placed on the carpet as the flex was too short to reach the plug. One plug socket didn't work the socket had blown. 8am, the shower would only leak cold water when the handle was turned to hot the water ceased to flow. The cistern lid on the toilet had to be lifted and giggled about in order for the cistern to fill or it ran constantly. The toilet seat slid sideways when sat on, it also needs a sturdier seat. Blackout curtains would also be beneficial as we were lucky enough to have superb sunny weather but meant the room was rarely dark to assist sleep. I report all the issues before breakfast. I was thanked for the information, an apology would have been nice.
