Great location and a warmWelcome from the young lady behind the bar.Good food selection , chose a sandwich from the menu . A little disappointed as it was on shop bought bread , and pre-grated coloured cheddar and thickly choppedOnion( and some inedible onion skin was present ).Served with crisps , salad garish and a good portion of homemade coleslaw ( which as very good indeed )Overall a cosy place for lunch in a perfect location.

Popped in The Ship Inn whilst visiting Lindisfarne for the day. It was very quiet, I expected more people. We sampled the beer, which was good and ordered a crab sandwich. I was a bit disappointed with the food. I found it a bit heavy on the Mayo which made it quite sloppy. It could also have benefited from more seasoning. It was accompanied by some plain crisps and coleslaw. We thought it a bit pricey at 13 pounds.

Warm welcome from the staff for supper. Food was subpar. Reheated chips. Fried fish tasted of ammonia. Our experience of dining in the Island was poor in general. Food trucks and daytime cafes were better. But after these close once the tourists escape high tide, the food options were poor and of low quality. Save yourself trouble and bring a picnic lunch for supper or grab sandwiches from the daytime shops and save for your evening meal.

Very nice dog friendly pub, the beer was also good.We only had a lunch time snack which was very good but a little expensive for sandwiches. The hot food from the main menu looked superb and much better value for money.Well worth a visitThey also have a great beer garden.

When my partner went to order I thought he'd got lost! Over half an hour later he returned to say that he'd been waiting to be served and there was a 40 min wait on food. He said that the bartender was grumpy...Didn't mind waiting as food was nice but fairly expensive.Table staff very friendly and efficient at cleaning tables ready for other customers.

Lovely place for a quiet retreat which we've been coming to for several years. The Ship offers good food and Paul the manager and his team work incredibly hard to make the service and your stay as pleasant as possible. Rather over priced rooms but not unexpected due to the lack of accommodation on the island. My only criticism is that my poached eggs for breakfast were so under done as to be inedible but this is just my personal taste.

We had a lovely family meal here prior to heading back to the mainland as the tide turned. We booked at short notice by email the day before. The restaurant was fully booked but Paul the manager offered us a table for ten in the bar and kept us amused with his tales of celebrity visitors. The food was good quality typical pub fare. The fish and chips and haddock in lemon and butter were particularly good and greatly appreciated. Booking is essential and is ideally required days or weeks in advance. Two parties turned up on spec and were turned away while we were there and there are few alternatives available in the village, even out of season and at high tide times.

Had a lovely fish lunch and scampi here. It's a little on the pricey side for the north east, but not unexpectedly as it's literally a captive audience" when the tide comes in! We really enjoyed sitting in the beer garden for a quiet drink before heading out walking. The landlord pre-warned us that they were fully booked for evening meals

Had a meal here whilst we stayed on Holy Island. Quite nice inside and dog friendly which is a bonus. We had a meal for a family of 6 and there weren't many other people in at the time. My partner is vegetarian and as there wasn't anything on the menu she liked she asked if she could have fried egg and chips. We didn't think this was too much to ask as there was gammon and egg on the menu, unfortunately we were told no and they would only do things off the menu. In the end she opted for the garlic bread starter (£4.95) and a portion of chips. The garlic bread was abysmal, literally 2 slices of the bland frozen stuff you get from the supermarket that is about £1 for a dozen slices. The chips were nice though, and to be fair the steak pie that some of us ordered was very nice. After we'd eaten the barman came over and sat near us joining in our conversation which was a bit awkward. Due to the complete lack of flexibility and the rip off garlic bread I'd only give it 2 stars and that's only because the pie was good.

Chips are AMAZING. Shame the soup was so bad. Bland and yuk, please tell the chef loads of pepper doesn’t make it taste better. Long wait to be served but food came quickly.
