The staff were very nice and prompt. They checked my dog carefully. I was disappointed that they didn’t check her records to ensure the medication she was on or prescribe her any additional painkillers as a result of this.

Terrible service, my dog had a seizure around 5.40pm so I drove to this vet which was 10 minutes away, upon entering I was immediately told to go and wait in consult room 1 where I waited for 20 minutes, then my dog had her temperature checked and we were asked to wait for the vet, but she was in surgery and they were waiting on another vet who would be there at around 7pm. At around 7.10pm she arrived and asked us to go to consult room 2, she weighed her and checked her then let her walk around for 20-30 seconds and gave us advice, all of which took around 10 minutes, we were told to bring her back if there was any issue which I agreed on, upon going back to reception I was told the bill was an eye watering £286.50! All they had done was check her temp, examened her for 5 minutes then give us some advice, not forgetting we waited around 1.30-2 hours for this. I was never told the fees associated with it to begin with, if they would have told me I would have gone elsewhere, £286.50 for 10 minutes of work is absolutely disgusting, if she would have had blood tests and medication, I would have been happy, but an exam and advice for that price is just shocking.I have been told to make a payment plan, for which I probably will have to unfortunately.

Sadly we lost our little man (cat) Earl on Saturday evening. It all happened really quickly and Colwyn Bay Vets were the only place still open. We arrived around 7pm and were shown straight to a consulting room by Sian the Vet. She examined Earl and gave him a pain relief injection. The diagnosis wasn't good and we made the decision to euthanise him. Sian and Lucy the nurse were brilliant throughout, very kind and caring, despite being bitten! As was the head Vet, also bitten, who's name we can't remember (sorry, but we do remember your fab hair) Sian worked well past her finishing time to tend to Earl plus my wife and I, nothing was rushed and he ended his days pain free. He's now buried in the garden he loved, no doubt still catching mice and birds in his dreams. It's never an easy decision to make and thank you to all at Colwyn Bay Vets for your kindness throughout.

Very expensive out of hours service. I was quoted £3500 for an operation that costs £660 during normal hours. After continually saying we can't afford it Vetsnow said try Animal Trust in Ellesmere Port. They charged £650 for the operation which was done yesterday, thank god for them otherwise our dog may have died.

The care, empathy and professionalism face to face was very good from Our vet Charlie. They ensured that our dog was stabilised after a long bout of D and V.My major issue is the extortionate cost. £1640 for 28 hours care is a lot of money. I do feel that this pricing structure is taking advantage that you are in an emergency situation. The same care if he was admitted during the day would have been at least 50% less!!
