I called Eye on the off chance that they’d be able to source some Gucci frames for me. I spoke to Tammy on the phone and was blown away by how helpful she was. She managed to get the frames for me (from abroad) and kept me updated while I was waiting for them to arrive. I was given flexibility with getting me in for my glasses to be measured as I don’t live in Birmingham, which was really appreciated and found everyone was so helpful and friendly when I got to the store to collect them. Thank you so much!

My daughter has been struggling, with her reading. She was recently diagnose with dyslexia. Two months ago, we attended the eye clinic, for a stress test. The staff were brilliant, they took their time and assessed her a few times to make sure the colour overlay was correct and that my daugter and the school were seeing improvements in her reading. I am so greatful, has she is reading confidently and has moved onto books for her age.The nhs doesn't recognise the use of colour overlays/glasses but if your childs been diagnosed with dyslexia. I higherly recommend this opticians. They have improved the way she access the school curriculum and she is more confident in school. You cant ask for more than that.Thank you

Any good impression from their nice receptionist and opticians will always be ruined by the owner. Absolutely intrusive and rude services, with no professionalism. He knows less about the frame I want than I do, but still being arrogance and confident about his false statements. When he suspects that you want to compare the price with others, he would become raged and urge you to leave, let's not waste our time until you make a decision!". What a way to treat your potential customer. I understand that money is important

I am delighted to give Eye Opticians a 5-star review after many years of excellent service. My son recently started complaining of difficulties with reading and recalling the text, with letters unfocused and jumping around on the page. I had always suspected some kind of processing issue but took him to Eye so that they could recheck his eyesight first. As his vision was almost perfect, Shafik suggested testing for Meares Irlen Syndrome (aka Visual Stress) before going down the expensive route of an educational psychologist to test for dyslexia. During that separate and very thorough hour-long assessment just a few days later, it became obvious to Shafik, me and my son that he does indeed have Meares Irlen Syndrome. This is a physical inability to read black print on white paper. Shafik did various tasks with him, including comparing his reading, writing and recalling abilities with and without several different coloured lenses. He was incredibly kind and patient and my son had a great time. The impact of using the colour that we now know he needs was instantaneous and my son's reaction was absolutely brilliant. He was open-mouthed and absolutely delighted, saying I never knew reading could be so easy". He went from stumbling

EYE opticiansEdgbastonAbove and Beyond Excellent Customer Service!!!!Extremely professional, and friendly team, based in a beautiful and modern shop, with a fantastic selection of designer frames instantly available in store.Parking outside is free on the road for up to an hour, and I have parked easily on all 3 of my visits.I came here because they are a licensed stockist of Chanel, and many opticians (including my previous opticians), no longer are.From the first telephone conversation with Tammy, I was so impressed by her knowledge, professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness that I felt sure that if any opticians could help me, that they could. I needed my eyewear to be ready in less than 2weeks time. I had already been to two other opticians, the one for a prescription but sadly they no longer held a license to work with Chanel glasses, and another optician that sadly carried very little stock of my preferred brand and I’d already lost 1 week of time as I had been asked to make an appointment to even view their frames, only to learn that they carried very few Chanel in store, so would need to order the frames from overseas, which would take approx / at least 2weeks plus extra time to sort the lenses.Today, just a week later, thanks to their great attitude, their listening, understanding (and efforts - pulling out all the stops for me), I have collected the two pairs of varifocal glasses (one of which are sunglasses) and both pairs fit and feel absolutely perfect!!I recall an optician friend once explaining to me why it is so important that varifocal lenses are measured and fitted by someone who isn’t just trained, but are qualified and experienced. I now know exactly what she was saying.A massive thank you Shafik, to you and your fantastic team at EYE opticians Edgbaston!!

Having used opticians (big High Street and a couple of independents) over the past 40 year I can attest that the ‘Eye Opticians’ is the very best I’ve come across .Many an optician will simply take your prescription and let you walk out with a completely inappropriate , ill-fitting frame and poor quality lens.The owner, Shafik provided clear , and sometimes blunt, explanations as to why certain frames and lens are the most suitable for me.He provided , what I found to be a very unique service tailored to my specific needs.As a result I purchased my very first varifocals, lens and frame, and a ‘workstation’ pair.I then returned 3 weeks later to have varifocals lens put in an existing frame to be used as a spare pair.Furthermore , I needed specialist retina scanning which was done on in-house equipment (OCT scan) not found in many other optician stores. The optician took the time to show me the scan results and clearly explain what they meant.During my very informal consultation I got the impression the owner hates the mass market , fast track eye examinations and service provided by ‘retail opticians’.Something that I’ve experienced and avoid.I’d highly recommend the ‘Eye Optician’.

The range of frames was amazing and the time the Manager afforded me in choosing the most appropriate frame for me exceeded my expectation and the end product was very special indeed. I have used the services of the Eye Optician in Edgbaston recently to help me with my poor eyesite The service I have received has been outstandingly brilliant, the staff from the receptionist Tammy to the Optician and the whole team are extremely professional, knowledgeable, polite, very well organised and extremely efficient. I can't recommend them highly enough. If anyone out there are struggling with their vision please use this business they will not let you down. Richard.

I have been a customer at Eye Opticians for several years. Always excellent, personal service. However, as my eyesight has deteriorated, I have struggled to find a prescription that gives me excellent distance vision for driving, yet be able to focus on the dashboard of the car, and be able to use a phone etc. Normal varifocals are always a compromise. Shafik (the owner) suggested I try Hoya 'En-Route' lenses. These are optimised for driving, and have filters to reduce headlight glare. They have a very wide distance and mid range field of view.Shafik spent a lot of time getting the prescription optimised for the frame and the angle of my vision. The result is truly excellent, I have very sharp distance vison, and can easily read the car sat-nav, phone etc. Glare is much reduced at night, and the lenses are photochromic, so great in the sun. They were not cheap, but well worth the cost, especially for driving. I now have a quality of vision I had 20 years ago. Highly recommended.
