The Workshop by Mario

I was due to go to Bike Park Wales when I noticed a bad wobble from my rear triangle. Mario was able to book me in short notice, diagnosed the problem much better than me and did absolute wonders with my Mtb in just a couple days. He's got a great sense of what parts can be saved, what should be replaced proactively (while the bike's in bits anyways), and he's very transparent in what he finds and what he recommends. I feel like I can trust his judgment without overspending. I rarely review anything or anyone, so if you're looking for a trusty mechanic – look no further!

Stumbled across The Workshop a week or so ago while out on a ride and decided to call in for no particular reason other than to get the telephone number etc. Ended up having a chat with Mario the owner who spotted that the rear wheel on my mtb had issues (cracks around some spoke holes) After speaking with him and listening to his advice, I decided to go ahead and get him to build a new, higher quality rear wheel. I've just been back in to have the new wheel set up on the bike and I am more than happy with the service I've received. Mario listened to what I wanted in terms of budget, specs etc. Gave good sound advice and kept me updated with things. I can only highly recommend The Workshop and Mario to anyone who may be unaware of the place, as I was, and will certainly use again in the future.

Mario is professional & thorough in every way. Excellent communication keeping you informed of progress with each step. Mario’s been helping service, upgrade and build road bikes for me for the last five years or so. In that time we’ve built quite a few together and he’s imparted acres of brilliant advice. When I say “together” I’ve sourced the components and he’s fitted them. Although there’s nothing he can’t do with any bike, if you’ve a high end road bike his experience on what’s good, what’s bad and what’s plain ugly is invaluable. Couple such expertise with honesty and integrity to match and you have the perfect example of a first class road bike mechanic. I feel very fortunate to know him.

Mario has been servicing and repairing by bikes for about 5 years. High end road bikes and winter hacks. He has repaired wheels that were seemingly ready to go in the bin.His knowledge is quite unbelievable. He has found solutions to any problem I’ve ever had and explains things in a way that is easily understood.He is reasonably priced too.If you go to Mario, I doubt you will ever want to use another mechanic again.

Really pleased with this. Took in my twelve year old bike for a service and some mods, Mario did a great job and the bike looks and feels like new. Particularly happy with the attention to detail on the aesthetics, I’d asked for specific things and they were all done perfectly. Highly recommend!

Mario is a superb mechanic. Painstakingly thorough, professional, precise, reliable and reasonably-priced. Refreshingly honest too and not afraid to tell you when things aren’t worth the expense, time or effort. If Mario won’t fix it, it’s time to replace it!

Mario has been servicing my bikes for over 10 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. He is an excellent mechanic who really knows his stuff and he’s completely trustworthy. He offers a very friendly and fast service and and will only do work on your bike that he thinks needs doing. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Upgraded bike from mechanical to electronic. Really tricky job but fantastic result. No fuss, turned the job around really quickly for an upcoming race for my wife. Lovely customer service, very experienced and very, very reasonably priced. I can highly recommend Mario.
