D V Cresswell Carpets

Needed a new carpet for the back bedroom. Dan (the guy in the shop) was very helpful is talking me through the various types. Total cost for underlay, fitting, carpet grips and carpet was £266. It feels and looks first class. We will see how it wears...I live locally so it was nice to support local business rather than carpet right or similar.Would recommend.

Extremely professional, quick and excellent quality service. After several bad experiences with other local carpet fitters I can say that the Cresswell crew were absolutely brilliant. We recently had two bedroom carpets fitted by Cresswell, who my family have used for many years. Sadly we won’t be recommending them or using them again.Initial experience was good - choosing our carpet, communication, and measuring up.On the day of fitting the carpet fitter was 30 mins late and arrived smoking in the car (windows closed) with the underlay in the back.We went to the flat three times over the 4 hours to check in, see how he was doing and to ask how long he would be so we would come back to see it finished and to see him out. However on our final return came to find that he had LEFT THE PROPERTY WITH THE FRONT DOOR WIDE OPEN, with the contents of our flat there for anyone to take. It is the responsibility for the carpet shop owner to supply the carpet fitter with our telephone number so he can let us know when he had finished. We tried calling on multiple occasions but no answer.There were also marks on the carpet and walls, scuffed skirting, and no note. The fitter had told us he would remove the closet doors to fit the carpet, but obviously found it too difficult so didn’t, and subsequently dragged the carpet below the door and it is now stained.There was no care to let us know the carpet had been marked, it looked like he had tried to get it off but couldn’t so left it. After spending a lot of money we would have expected some kind of apology or compensation.Sadly after many years of custom we will not be going back to Cresswell, or recommending their services to family and friends.

Really important to support our local shops when they re-open after thes lockdowns. So please get out and shop local as much as you can.Shop has been serving Kensal Rise for 60 years and is a family run businessBeen using the shop for our carpets for around 30 years and the selection is extensive and service is great.Dave retired a couple of years ago but the team including his Son are very helpfulReally good shop.

Bought a two drawer bed base the side of which collapsed after a month BUT this company refused to replace or repair it and five months later, the other side did the same. A waste of my money and wont buy anything more from them. Don't you, either. The law demands a year's warranty but they didn't even provide a month's.

I went into this shop to order Blinds total cost £500. They told me they had no samples to show me because they had lent the samples to another customer who seemed to have disappeared. I thought that was a bit strange.They said they would call me once the samples became available. Two months later nothing. I'm still scratching my head what a way to run a business. I have ordered on line which is a lot cheaper so they know what they can do with their awful service.So customers beware.

In the pass, I simply had to count the number of treads and then measure one step, take to carpet shops and they'd calculate and quote. This time it was a small winding staircase and each step was a different size. So I did sketches and measured each tread. At the first place (which I won't name) the guy wouldn't even look at my sketches and insisted he'd have to come out and measure. Then he made a big thing about fitting us into his schedule. Wish we hadn't bothered. The cost for carpet was not bad but the fitting meant the quote more than doubled!So we tried out Cresswell.Danny there was really helpful and he did look at my sketches and when we chose a style, was able to work out a quote there and then. It was less than half the cost of first shop.The fitter who showed up had been fitting carpets for over 40 years and he did a really professional job.Can't fault Cresswell. They were true professionals.

Good quick turn around on order and fitting, but very disappointed with the fitting service. Bedroom doors won’t now close and we have been told afterwards that we have to pay another company to do this. Pity as try to support local businesses.
