The door policy is a bit grim. Nice bar, decent drinks - but the level of scrutiny if you arrive with a bag or a hat (shock horror!) is pretty shocking. The owners clearly have a very fixed idea about the type of people they want in their bar, which is just a bit snobby and depressing in my opinion.

First visit. Handy location opposite Stockport Train Station. No real ale. Large open plan cafe bar. Friendly staff. Fizzy beer and cider on sale. Good coffee. About £3 a mug. Two large TV'S. Pleasant place to visit.

Friendly, lively atmosphere. Not a particularly attractive interior, probably could be described as minimalist. Music playing encouraging dancing but a bit too loud as it prevents conversation. Unfortunately no cask ales available.

The staff were friendly enough and I enjoyed an orange juice and a pint of coke zero.On the food front though I found it strange it wasn't possible to get a bowl of chips as apparently they don't have a fryer. I think chips should be pretty standard for somewhere like this.I ordered a vegan chicken sandwich. It came on what seemed like cheap white bread and without any cuttlery or surviette. I got a surviette from the bar side and got a knife and fork which were both in the same container. The sandwich had a lot of sauce on it which I didn't like at all. Maybe the sauce is an acquired taste I should've checked into before but it coming on cheap white bread and without cuttlery or surviette just seemed poor to me. Also I've never known a place like this not just be able to give a bowl of chips.I wouldn't recommend. Two stars for friendly enough staff, a clean environment and a couple of soft drinks.

‘Do your trousers have a drawstring in them?’Yes, that was a genuine question actually asked by the man on the door, who quite frankly looked like a complete scruff.Shame as I’ve been in before and it seemed like a perfectly okay place to have a drink or two. Believe it’s run by a fellow Stockport County fan. After this quite laughable experience safe to say I won’t be bothering again, and won’t be recommending when anyone asks about decent places for a drink in Stockport.

You can't call yourself a regular when you visit them 3 or 4 times per year. That's how often we visit Stockport. But when we arrive at the station, the first thing we do is go to Bask.It has that easygoing, anti-snobbish atmosphere. You feel at ease here (unless you're a snob and not easygoing). They are so no-nonsense that even the sandwich looks like it comes from your auntie's kitchen. We call it a doorstopper. You hope you can open your mouth wide enough to take a bite. The filling is so generous that you wonder how they make on them. Very nice though!Previous ReviewWe only had a cappuccino here as we were waiting for our train and it was early. They had almost everything prepared for the next world cup match but were still very busy finishing it all. Despite that, one of the guys still had time for a little chat. Very friendly atmosphere, staff great. And, not unimportant, the cappuccino was very good. From our short experience we can only conclude that this must be a great place to spend time.

Very convenient, quick and great value right next to the train station. Grabbed a quick lunch and drink, atmosphere was nice for mid afternoon.

I like going here and the staff are usually very welcoming: indeed I should be here again this coming Friday. However, they need to realise that this isn't a bona fide nightclub, and turn the music down before around 10pm. It's just too loud before then to actually hear anyone other than the person immediately next to you (and that at a push!) After 10pm, only adults should be out in bars and clubs anyway.
