Brilliant place, great animals, amazing staff. Fully interactive, greater us as soon as we walked in the door, had a quick chat. Chatted loads as we walked around, and we bought some reptiles. Will definitely be back again.

Having purchased various fish / plants and items for my dog over the last couple of years from here, thought I'd pop in having heard about the changes to the shop with my boys. Wasn't disappointed as starting to look really good with all the animals on display. The boys loved it. Managed to avoid buying something this time, but will be back in the future when something is needed.

I can only comment on the aquarium part of the business, although the rest looks clean and well maintained. As for the fish, this place is excellent. Very good range, with some species not often seen elsewhere. They take time with you and provide good advice on the suitability of their fish with your existing set-up and stock. Everything looks healthy, and prices are reasonable given the quality.

Went to Purple Pets this weekend with my kids. Can’t thank the staff enough for all their help and advice on the care and upkeep of the animals we were looking at. Fantastic shop with good variety of products and amazing displays of fish, birds and reptiles. We will definitely be back!

This is review is for the attention of Pip at Purple Pets.Hi PipAfter speaking to you by phone today, 28 July, I cannot thank you enough for your kind words & encouragement, in relation to your knowledge of hamsters, as I shall be buying one at the end of August, or sending my cousin Peter in to purchase one, as you know. I wanted an ethical pet store, & felt drawn to Purple Pets, even before making the call this morning.As you know, I'm still in tears over Cookie (Monster), as it was only Wednesday 26 July, that I was forced to take him to the vets & have him put to sleep, due to diabetes, & him trying to urinate every 20 seconds, for 2 days running (18 months old). Kinder for him in the long run. Before we purchase another hammie, I thought you'd like to see a photo of my beloved Cookie and the cage that I've deep cleaned, for the new hammie to go into.Can't wait to meet you on a WhatsApp call, that my cousin will be making, so that I can see the hamsters, and choose one as a beloved pet.WarmlyGenevieve Knights

Always a great experience coming into purple pets, the staff are very knowledgeable, always happy to answer any questions I have, give such detailed advice, I have arranged for my tortoise to board whilst I’m away for the weekend and the process in doing so was quick and easy I have full confidence in the staff that my tortoise will be taken very great care of, I would absolutely highly recommend and would give more stars if possible, thank you purple pets team!

Visited here whilst staying with my brother. Really lovely pet shop with lots of choice and fair prices. All animals, reptiles and fish looked healthy and well looked after.Nice selection of dog treats which I got for my dog max. Very friendly staff, really chatty. Will come back next time I am visiting my brother.

We have visited this shop on a few occasions, the staff are so welcoming and enjoy sharing interest facts about the animals and answering all our kids wild questions! Our most recent purchase was a duo of gerbils, the owner discussed with us the pros and cons of different water feeders and gave us great advice, we have actually spoken to him on the phone since with more questions and he seemed very pleased to help.If I had to offer any advice to anyone considering visiting, it’d be to address any concerns with the staff while you’re there, I only mention this because on one of our first visits there was a poorly looking rabbit, which would of alarmed anyone, however it happened to be a health condition and the staff happily shared reassuring information and even had prescribed medication for the little one. There was also a similar situation with a reptile on our most recent visit, which turned out to be a recent rescue that was being very well looked after.Would highly recommend visiting and supporting this business.
