The Millpool
First time visiting with a friend from London, was recommended by a friend & also great reviews on Google too. Arrived without reservation, and whilst they were fully booked, the manager was amazing and managed to accommodate us in an alternative way and this made our day (hence why I’m leaving a review). The Sunday roast was amazing. Really filling and delicious. No complaints.

Staff very polite and friendly atmosphere welcoming traditional with a modern Twist decent wait time for food. Cannot comment on any other food as I've only had this rump steak. Steak was a little overdone I asked for medium rare it did get Pinker further down the stake as it was a bit thicker also lacked seasoning. Chips were just standard chunky chips quite Pleasant on your rings were nice and crispy mushroom good

We love The Millpool! Reservations is Definitely a must (at least on weekends) as they are booked solid. Food is very good, service is fast and friendly. There are 3 different areas to dine in not including the private party area which is another large room.We celebrated a quiet" birthday with starters

Had a baby shower yesterday with 15 guests and the whole team were very helpful. We were able to decorate the room fully and the buffet food was plentiful, delicious and on time. We had a lovely afternoon, fantastic service and at a fantastic price. Thanks John and team for a perfect event.

Decided to go to The Millpool for lunch to celebrate my 50th birthday. Place seems like a popular place. The food is nice & compared to other similar places the lunchtime portions they are on the smaller scale but by the same token quite filling.As for the service all I can say is that it was a bit cold & unwelcoming & rushed. Ordering drinks & food felt as if we the customer were a nuisance & the waitress couldn't remember what was ordered on several occasions, despite just taking our orders. I get that the girls are busy & probably want to do as many covers as possible during lunchtime.The music was also a bit too loud & my dad had to go outside because he could not cope with the volume or choice of music as his in his 70s. The music should really be back round music level & not disco considering it was lunchtime.Place is nicely decorated throughout.Overall not bad value but I would say that your service lets it down a bit unless you're a regular I suppose.

Very, very busy which was good. Background ‘music’ unnecessary as there was lots of happy chatter. Having had fish and chips there many times,( as they are surely the best in the city,) I thought I would try the Roast Salmon. A bit disappointing as the fish was bland. Fortunately the sauce it was served with, was very tasty and made the meal palatable. Great staff.
