Dog Smart with Megan

The Puppy Social and Sensory Class with Megan was so enjoyable and supportive I highly recommend the experience for young pups. My show cocker loved it! The small class of three meant focus time for all of us and I gained lots of new ideas about play and socialisation. Megan has a clear way of communicating and brings great knowledge and passion to her dog training, as well as a calm, kind and professional manner.

I would recommend Megan at Dogsmart to anyone looking for training with their dogs. Her assesment and insight in to both our dogs is always spot. You can tell right away she has a huge knowledge and care for their training. We had previously tried different training techniques with nothing working but with Megan's help it's honestly like having different dogs.

We drove over from Skye especially to meet with Megan. As first time dog owners with a very energetic pup we needed a bit guidance and Megan was absolutely brilliant! In the four days we learnt a lot and saw lots of progress - but most importantly, Megan's kind and calm approach made sure that our puppy had the best time and lots of fun while learning. I'm sure we'll see Megan again in the future!

Megan is the epitome of a dog behaviourist and trainer. If only all those who advertise themselves as trainers had her standard of knowledge, experience and care. Megan genuinely cares about the dogs and owners she helps and her knowledge is fantastic. She excudes calm energy and was happy answer all my questions (of which I had many!!!) She ensured I was comfortable with what I was doing before she left and gave me plenty opportunity to ask further questions as she was preparing to go.We did the 1-1 scent detection training and she ensured my dogs welfare was her priority where she gave the dog working plenty rest and the pup plenty breaks from his cage, aswell as ensuring he was being rewarded for being calm in his cage whilst the other dog worked.I can't wait to start mantrailling with Megan and she is so good that I will be travelling approx 1.5 hour round trip with my dogs to ensure she is our coach.Top class and THANK YOU SO MUCH MEGAN we really appreciate the way you cared for our dogs during training.

My pointer, Bambi, completed the introduction to scent detection course with Megan and I’m so glad we did it! Bambi really struggled with distraction (mainly scent of birds in her case!) so was struggling but Megan was so patient and took time to work with us individually. Everything was so smoothly run, individually tailored and Megan is clearly very knowledgeable and explained and demonstrated everything so well. The group was small enough that everyone got lots of one on one time. It was great that a scent work kit was provided so we had everything needed to get started. I honestly can’t recommend Megan enough, she is so professional and friendly and no question felt like a stupid question. I’ll definitely use her services again!

We have worked with Megan on two occasions with our dogs and she was extremely knowledgable and a very big help. The first time we had a few training sessions together with her and both our dogs, Bonnie and Haggis, to try and work on loose lead walking, recall and general behaviour when on walks. We made fantastic progress with them both and noticed a real difference. We then asked for Megan to have 1:1 sessions with just Haggis to improve his loose lead walking even more and help with his interaction with other dogs as he can be quite scared, tends to bark and gets worked up. Haggis has come so far and we have seen such an improvement in his behaviour. We know what to do in order to continue Haggis’ training. We can’t thank Megan enough and would highly recommend her!!

We had previously had rescue dogs and so getting a puppy was all new. It’s been a steep learning curve and Megan’s one- to-one sessions and puppy sensory classes have been invaluable to us. She’s also given us great support and advice between sessions when we’ve been having a tricky time. Megan is so calm, knowledgeable and a brilliant teacher. Our puppy loves her and the results of Megan’s advice are plain to see as our puppy develops. We can’t recommend her highly enough.
