Fresh Ideas Coventry

We first visited Fresh Ideas in September looking for curtains and track fittings for our three bedrooms. We knew what colourways we were looking for, but were not sure about fabric design or which type of poles/track to go for.Jacqui couldn’t have been more helpful or patient (it took us several trips to make up our minds!). She helped us source a fabric from one of their suppliers which we had seen but which wasn’t in any of the fabric swatch books. She advised us that there would be a two-month wait as the fabric was not currently in stock, and also advised on the different types of curtain headings and suitable poles or tracks.We were now ready to place our order for single pinched pleat curtains and Silent Gliss poles. Cristina, who was extremely efficient and friendly, came round soon after to measure our windows. Two weeks later Gareth came to install our poles, returning at the end of October to fit our first two pairs of curtains which he hung with great care and attention to detail. To our surprise and delight our 3rd set of curtains was ready a few weeks earlier than expected, and were again carefully fitted by Gareth.We were absolutely delighted with the choice of fabrics, the curtains, the service and the customer care provided by Fresh Ideas, and are pleased to be able to recommend them to anyone looking for a truly professional curtain making and fitting service.

What a find this shop hidden away in the Coventry backstreets was. Fine selection of wallpapers / paints / curtains / blinds / carpets. They are Designer Guild stockists but do not have all the pattern books, however if you look on the Designer Guild web site and see something you like within days the ladies at Fresh Ideas will have got you a sample. They have a knack of being able to perfectly match wallpaper to curtains / blinds and carpet once one has chosen. Be brave as at first glance you may dismiss the colour selection but it WILL be right. The standard of serive in the shop is excellent - friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. Maybe not the cheapest but as with most things in life you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

My experience with Fresh Ideas was, sadly, very disappointing.I ordered blinds last June at a cost of just under £2,700 - 7 voiles and 4 blackout blinds. Never spent that sort of money before but was prepared to pay it thinking we would have a top quality product from a reputable retailer.The voiles were mostly OK but, unfortunately, the blackout blinds were the wrong size and had to be re-ordered due to an error made by the person taking the measurements. This was particularly upsetting as we had just finished decorating the whole house and the blinds were supposed to give it that perfect finish before our guests arrived to stay. I was embarrassed and disappointed that they had to make do with light streaming through the sides of the windows.When the replacement blinds were fitted some weeks later, they all made a terrible grinding noise when trying to pull them up or down. They were obviously not checked by the supplier and I guess the fitter must have had earplugs in when he was fitting them. Worse still, 2 of the blinds were fitted in the wrong rooms (you couldn't even pull up the blind in one of the rooms because the cord was on the wrong side, in a recess, which should have rung alarm bells before fitting, that it wasn't the right blind for that room). By then 4 holes had been drilled unnecessarily on a newly wallpapered wall which were then filled and remain to be an eyesore.The supplier was contacted regarding the grinding noise and, in September, the fitter came back to take the blinds off the wall (again) to change the spools / mechanisms. They now aligned and no loner made a grinding noise. But after he left I noticed a small silver piece of something on the window sill that had clearly broken off from the blind. This was the last straw.I shared my frustrations with Lisa, who had dealt with my order (she had been brilliant), and she asked me to write everything down so that she could share it with the directors.It was was 3 weeks before I had a response and the director basically said that they had fulfilled their contract and how great it was that the supplier had worked with them to sort out all the problems and did not shirk any responsibility". Recently got roller blinds fitted from them. Paul came in to take the window measurements. He is a super nice guy and answered all my questions very patiently. We later went to the store to select the samples. They have a huge range of beautiful samples... we went crazy finalising them. The guy who came to fit the blinds was also extremely professional in his work.Overall, we had a very positive experience doing business with Fresh Ideas. The staff in the shop are very friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend them.

We tried other suppliers closer to home but eventually ended up in Fresh Ideas who had any number of suitable fabrics for our work and could supply us within a reasonable time at a very good price.

Absolutely fantastic. We built a brand new house and had no clue as to how we could add window coverings. We visited their showroom and were blown away by the choice on offer and left bewildered until we had a home visit from a representative who, after reviewing our needs, made suggestions that we never knew existed so after a further visit to the showroom freshly armed with new information we began to choose for each individual room. A further visit from Paul who accurately measured the rooms and gave further advice and we were on our way. We have now used their services for every room in the house and it was all down to their expert, friendly and professional advice. Thanks go to all the team and we would most definitely recommend their services.

Fresh Ideas are our supplier of choice for blinds. We have bought from them on 6 different occasions, for 6 different rooms in our house. The only worry is that they sell such a wide range of alternatives that decision making can be difficult!Two examples of service to counter other review comments. For our kitchen we discovered that the design we liked from the manufacturer's web site was not in their new catalogue. No problem: Fresh Ideas arranged it for us anyway. The controls of our bathroom blind failed after 7 years and it refused to stay up. No problem: Fresh Ideas quickly found a replacement.For personal service from a local business with staff that care about their customers, I heartily recommend Fresh Ideas.

The staff were brilliant and really knew their stuff ! The lady who served us was very helpful and was able to give us a lot of good tips ! The awning we are ordering from them, is a lot more expensive than I'd hoped, but I know that when they have put it up, it will look GORGEOUS !!!Highly recommended !!!

Fresh Ideas offer a friendly, professional and personal service. I recently bought a carpet and curtains from them and couldn't be more pleased with the fitting and quality of both. They are a small firm who go the 'extra mile' for their customers and I will return when more curtains or carpet are needed.
