My dentist Sam was really good but it's got to the point where the reception work is so poor that I just can't stand to come here anymore. I never know whether an appt is gonna go through or I turn up and there's a problem

I visited the dentist for check up. The female dentist wasn't sure about one of my teeth and called in a male dentist who aggressively poked and pried at one of my teeth. There was a loud pinging noise from the dental pick because he used so much force it slipped off my tooth. The next day while eating the tooth he was prying at shattered. I revisited the surgery and the male dentist who broke my tooth tried to tell me it was a coincidence but I wasn't convinced. The dentist offered a temporary repair which lasted about 2 weeks then fell off and I swallowed it. I visited the dentist again and they charged me for another temporary repair which also fell off .After another few weeks or so my gum became infected so I made another appointment because I was now in pain. An hour before my appointment they phoned me to say not to come in because their computer systems were down, I challenged the manager Michelle and said are you telling me if I come into the surgery you will have no patients sat waiting and nobody receiving treatment? She became aggressive and it was obvious she was lying as I am ex military police. I phoned their Shirley branch and asked if they had trouble with their computer system to which the receptionist said no, it's all fine.I then drove to the surgery and when I entered there were patients waiting for treatment and the surgery was in full operation. The manager Michelle took me into a private room and admitted to me that she had lied and that the dentists did not want to treat me as they didn't know what outcome I expected. I would have thought that was fairly obvious as I was in pain, I wanted them to accept responsibility and to have my tooth repaired properly or removed. She said she would give me some antibiotics for the infection and try to find me an appointment at another branch. I was contacted later in the day and offered an appointment for 3 weeks time. I said I have a broken tooth that is cutting into my tongue every time I swallow and the receptionist said that's all we have.Over the next weeks I was in a lot of pain and discomfort, my tongue was cut and sore, it was difficult to swallow and talk. I phoned the surgery and they just said somebody will call you back, they never did. Finally I got to the day of the appointment and then after I had left home and was travelling there the receptionist called me and said I'm very sorry but the dentist has been taken ill and won't be able to see you.She said I will call you on Monday, guess what? She never did the whole thing was a scam, they never intended to fix the tooth that they broke through malpractice, The dentists there are callous, cruel and uncaring. They caused me a lot of pain and suffering for absolutely no reason other than to shirk their responsibility. I would steer well clear of these amateurs before they injure you or your loved ones.

Always on hold for hours and that's not even an exaggeration. When I'm there, the phone rings and they just don't bother answering it. Had my filling done twice in the last 2 weeks, it stays for literally 2 days. I mention to get my other tooth removed every time I'm there and it just gets ignored. Once I had an appointment for 12.45 and the doors were closed because reception was on lunch, so couldn't even get in? What's the point of having appointments available when the doors are closed? Such poor customer service, I have nothing good to say about this practice

Awful, need looking into for malpractice. Had an infection since April, they cancelled 3 appointments and only got to see someone at the end of august. They botched 2 fillings and didn’t even take the rotten tooth out. They’d left it so late the infection is so bad and pain so extreme had to go to E&A. Rang back later but the dentist had finished for the day at 1pm because ‘he didn’t take a lunch break’. Pathetic.

The receptionist is so rude. They called me to book appointment and I informed her that I had fill in the form to register my dad. She goes to me I can’t find the form and why did the receptionist not booked your dad on the day of registration and I told her that I was told I will receive a call which I did not received and the lady says if the form was filled where is it then?!? As if I am suppose to know where the form is. The lady was exceptionally rude and hanged up the call.

Registered here as an NHS patient. Due to being pregnant and an infection in my tooth, they saw me really quickly, gave me a course of antibiotics and scheduled me in for extraction for a months and a half time, which I was okay with as I understand it’s a waiting list. The morning of the appointment, I had a text to say it was cancelled and to ring to reschedule. When I called (about two minutes after getting the text), I was told that they don’t have a dentist anymore as theirs had left and I would be looking at possibly middle of September (another month and a half). I asked if they were able to contact me when the dentist had started, as my tooth was in a lot of pain, and they said they would but I still have not received any communication.I rung them about 3-4 weeks ago due to being in severe pain with my tooth again, suspected another tooth infection. I had asked if they could refer me to another of their chain of practices just for removal, which they couldn’t do. The receptionist said they would speak to the dentist and try and arrange a hospital referral for removal due to not having a dentist and they would call me back. Nothing. Tried calling again, and the same thing. Still nothing, a month later. The staff were nice when coming into the dentist, and the dentist himself was also nice, but the poor communication and organisation means that I still, 3 months later, have a badly infected and painful tooth with no resolution.

Do not use this dentist. My wife had many appointments cancelled at the last minute. The dentist made a bottom set of dentures for her with which she cannot eat after paying hundreds of pounds. She was moved from one surgery to another. This practice is only interested in ripping people off.Disgraceful.

I just talked to a receptionist and she is not ready to tell her name. She was telling me she is doing a favour for me as she registered me even though I pay. And she was constantly threatening me to remove me from the system. I had suffered so much with the southcliff dental Eastleigh branch as well. I don't know why they keep this kind of receptionist. She made me so upset that I had to scream saying go on remove me. After 10 minutes one of her colleague called me, apologized and said the appointment isbooked and I am not removed from the service. Just to request the owner , please make sure the receptionist not being rude to us, Now I will wait and see if I actually get an appointment and the service quality. One extra Star for the amended call .

Hey. Visiting the dentist is a stressful thing, even at the best of times. And these are not the best of times! This is a busy, bustling place, but the staff are uniformly kind , professional and patient.Everybody seems determined to make the whole experienxce as pleasant and painless as possible. Kudos to you all! Thank you so much!!

Trying to get through on the phone is an absoloute nightmare, and appointments are cancelled at the drop of a hat - normally the day of your appointment as the dentist is 'sick'; pretty sure they take on private work instead. When you can see the dentist, they are polite and friendly, but getting there is a real issue. Have now moved dentists.
