Laura is an absolute star and I wouldn't trust my fur babies with anyone else!!! We have had a bad experience in the past with a cat sitter so were a bit nervous when we first reached out, Laura was quick to reply, friendly and offered to come to us for a free meet and greet which we were so grateful for. She brought her insurance documents, certificates and lots of information on her services which was reassuring, and as she walked into the livingroom immediately got on the floor with the cats!! Both of our cats are nervous around strangers but she put them at ease so quickly and had them literally eating out of her hand and demanding snuggles which is unheard of! She then sent us a form which asked for loads of info from the feeding schedule to nicknames, favourite sleep spots, vet contact details and insurance! Very thorough!We booked with Step Pets for a weekend away, a 30 minute visit in the morning and night. We got pictures, videos and messages with little stories and how they were doing after every visit which I loved. Laura didn't just sit with them, she played with them too and on the last visit I even had a message from her to say she'd run the vacuum around, what a special extra touch!!We then made a longer booking for our holiday, we had the updates every visit! It made me feel totally at ease as you can tell Laura genuinely cares for them. She even left her fleece in the house one night because one of the cats had taken a liking to it and decided he was using it for a nap and she didn't want to disturb him, so sweet! She really goes the extra mile, making little puzzles for them, playing, carrying them around like babies and even giving their breakfast and playing with them outside because they wouldn't eat it inside and she was worried they'd be hungry!We booked 2 X 30 minute visits, but got so much more than that - our landlord wanted to do some work on the house which she organised with him after asking me if it was ok, making sure the windows were closed so the fumes didn't get in, then airing out the house whilst she was here afterwards. She also checked on my many houseplants and watered the ones that needed it, and on the last visit she not only vacuumed again, she also steam cleaned the floors and febreezed the soft furnishings so it smelled fresh when we got home, and offered to get us some milk so we could have a brew when we got home!Laura also got us out of a pickle when I'd messed up the dates and did extra visits at VERY short notice when she had gone for a day in the Lakes, I was so grateful as we were stuck and I was in a panic! Step Pets saved the day!I honestly can't recommend Step Pets enough, we booked a pet sitter, but I've gained a new pal too! They go the extra mile and those special touches really do make them a *step* above the rest!!

Our winnie is just a pup with lots of energy and is strong minded . We wanted to be able enjoy a walk with her but it was very stressful as she wanted to meet and greet everyone plus every dog.Recall was a major problem but her not listening didn't help at allAfter 1 visit with Laura she identified right away some aspects we could change and improve which we started right awayWe realised it was us that needed training as wellNow we have a much more polite well mannered puppy who loves her walks and we are not stressed any more . It's work in progress recall is so much better and she now listens to what we are askingWe have grown in confidence as our winnie has as wellThank you Laura she is a genuine and really cares and it's a pleasure to have met you .Laura does not judge but helps to problem solve what is the best for you and your dog . Laura was recommended to us by a friend and I am so glad we reached out to her. We asked laura to help out with our 2 cats while we were away. She was very accommodating and came round to meet the cats before committing to it which I found reassuring. The cats instantly loved her and the whole time we were away I felt comfortable knowing she was popping in to keep them company and look after them which is a big deal!! Laura sent regular updates while we were away and I could see how much time and effort she put into keeping our cats entertained. I found Laura to be very kind, caring and trustworthy and would definitely recommend!

I would highly recommend laura to look after your cat or dog she has been amazing with my 3 cats when i went on holiday for 10 days. Laura fitted me in at short notice to cat sit my 3 cats .Laura sent me daily updates pictures and videos of my 3 cats which was lovely to see and gave me peace of mind while i was away.Two of my cats are timid and Laura managed to feed them cuddle them and interact with them. She went above and beyond for my cats and would Definetley use laura again.

The best dog walker, pet sitter and pet whisperer in town!We reached out to Laura for some adhoc walks due to working hours and to help with dog sitting in the future.Initially I was a little anxious as Nellie has always been a stubborn pup who knows what she wants and often would not walk for us. Laura got Nellie doing tricks we’ve never been able to on her very first welcome meeting! Laura assured us she would look after her and get her walking.Nellie trotted out the front door with Laura without any issues and has done every visit since! Nellie can get nervous around other dogs but Laura is the best at making her feel safe on her walks. She loves her time with Laura and I always know that she is in the best hands.We were also really struggling with Nellie’s skin as she has had allergies since a pup. After following some advice and tips Laura offered us alongside some of her long term medication, Nellie’s skin is the best it has ever been. We honestly cannot thank Laura enough. Nellie is like a brand new pup. I would recommend her and Steppets to anyone.Thanks so much ❤️

Laura is your very own dog whisperer. I can't begin to tell you how amazing this young lady is. She looked after Vinnie our beagle whilst we went on holiday. Unfortunately poor Vin had an ear infection and we were so worried about him. However Laura sent us regular pictures and videos to keep us updated and he was so well looked after. An over night stay was covered and again we couldn't ask for any more from her! She is just brilliant at her job. From the first visit to the rest of her services she's been the best. Great communication, very knowledgable, trustworthy and gives such good advice aswell as being a lovely person. Laura we love you and so does Vinnie Thank you ❤️

Laura has been an absolute star in turning Tali into a polite, well behaved pup! We contacted her before picking Tali up from the breeder and even then she was passing on fantastic advice for day one. Having Laura interact with Tali early and teach us how to avoid a lot of pitfalls was really key to her development. She introduced us to variety of tools and techniques for keeping a young pup calm when you need them to be, such as mental enrichment toys and the importance of routine and addressing their needs. This was really important for me as from a young age I’ve been able to bring Tali into my work office during the day with minimum distraction - I’ve received so many comments from colleagues praising Tali’s behaviour and level of training for such a young age and it’s all down to Laura. Being able to do that has greatly increased Tali’s quality of life so I’ll always be grateful to her for helping this to happen.When things have been challenging, she’s always been there to give guidance and advice. Since getting Tali we’ve been able to address a number of issues such as barking during dinner and pulling on the lead during walks. While we still have a little bit of work to do with the latter (Tali is still young and these things take time), Laura has helped us reduce them to manageable levels - she used to bark repeatedly when preparing dinner but now sits patiently by our side! We also used to have a major problem with barking during the night but now she sleeps through till morning. Laura helped us tackle this by teaching us the benefit of positive reinforcement of her crate through tricks like meal time in the crate etc. Our next challenge is to get Tali more comfortable in the car and we are seeing great progress already. She will happily jump in and no longer barks for the entire journey (thank god).For anyone looking for obedience training I couldn’t recommend Laura enough - she clearly has a solid knowledge of canine psychology and cares for each pup like her own. After each training session she also sends a detailed tailored guide of what we went through for us to look back on which has been invaluable and shows the level of care and effort she puts into her role. Tali and the family look forward to spending more training sessions with her in the future.

Laura is just the person you want helping out when things don’t go quite to plan.My 17 year old was looking after our dog whilst we were on a short UK break. Laura was on walking duties.My dog was unexpectedly poorly and Laura went the extra mile to make sure dog and 17 year old were calm, well cared for and had all the medications and supplies that they needed for recovery.Not sure what we would have done without Laura! Nothing was too much trouble for her.
