Words cannot express how absolutely amazing Great Oaks is. The staff are just wonderful and they truly care, having created a true home from home atmosphere. We feel we have become part of a new family and more importantly so does my Aunt. In fact once reluctant to leave her bungalow 300 miles away, never wants to go back. The home which is set in beautiful grounds with outstanding facilities is just perfect, they have really thought of everything. Not sure? take a look, you won't be disappointed, we feel blessed to belong to this new family we have become a part of. My Mum, Joan Pritchard, moved into Great Oaks in January 2021, once it was decided that my father could no longer look after her, Mum had vascular dementia. I can only say that the time Mum was there, right up to her death a few days ago, Mum was always well cared for. The room was a good size and very light with a lovely outlook. The food was always looked and smelled delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful . I cannot recommend this Care Home more for a loved one with this dreadful disease.

I have worked at Great Oaks for more than a year now and I am very content working there, staff are lovely, the management is great and it has a very friendly atmospher. I enjoy seeing the smile on the residents faces everyday and I love looking after them.

I'm a care assistant at Great Oaks for the last 5 years, it's a lovely place to work, very clean, lovely staff and the new management are very good. The most important thing is us staff care about are lovely residents and do everything we can to make sure they are happy and safe

This place is absolutely astonishing. I am appauled by the way the staff and management run this home. Its like a playground. It states I quote on your website care is about compassion

This is an appalling home. I won’t even call it a care home. Most of these good reviews are written by staff and management during the time they were meant to be dealing with my negligence complaints. What a joke. It has taken over 11 weeks for them to deal with my complaint and accept fault as the management are so incapable of dealing with anything. I eventually had to go above the homes head and contact Encore themselves as the manager, James Glanville, at this home decided to completely ignore me. My Nan came here for 2 weeks respite and was totally neglected. She wasn’t offered a shower, bath, hair wash or bed wash the whole two weeks. She was 90 with only one leg. Left in unsuitable wheelchair for 13+ hours a day and multiple meds errors. The list does go on. I come from a care background and this is one of the worst management cases I’ve come across by the way that they have dealt with our concerns/complaint. One lady at Encore was very helpful and seemed to care and got things sorted but the managers at Great Oaks do NOT care and clearly lack empathy and compassion that they supposedly hold themselves so highly to. The carers may be friendly and welcoming but are either severely understaffed, not adequately trained or very poorly managed. I wouldn’t dream of recommending this place to anybody. There’s no greater fail than that of the people in charge of caring for our most vulnerable loved ones, being managed by people who simply do not care and are clearly incompetent.
