Unfortunately not the greatest customer service experience. I wanted a few minor adjustments to 3 items. For the 1st item, the tailor said the adjustments I wanted “wouldn’t make a difference, not worth doing” but he still offered to charge me £20. The second item he informed me it was “way too big for you, and you broke it, will cost you £30” The item was from a charity shop and had a small hole on the inside of the waistband when I bought it. The final item he said would be a big job so would cost me £40, which I was happy to pay. I wanted the dress to be more form fitting. The dress fit well on my hips, so I accept that it was not exactly falling off me, however, a couple of small adjustments to the waist (approx 0.5 inches either side) would’ve made a massive difference to me. Unfortunately the tailor was adamant that it fit me fine. He said he could do it, “but it won’t look good on you”. I let him know that I’ve worn the dress before and the bagginess on the waist made me look frumpy and rectangular in pictures. He kept pointing at my reflection in the mirror and saying “Look in the mirror, it fits you”. I found this extremely rude and patronising. Clearly we were seeing different things in the mirror and perhaps he just misunderstood what I was looking for. Overall, I do not feel that he really understood or listened to what I wanted. I’ve never had this kind of experience before and I’m not usually one to complain, so I was a bit taken aback. Maybe I just caught the tailor on a bad day or I rubbed him up the wrong way, as most of the other reviews seem quite positive.

Really excellent service. Fast, good quality work, very pleasant and polite service. I had a tweed jacket taken in. The tailor fitted it and did the alteration in 24 hours, with excellent results. Very pleased and no hesitation in recommending.

I had a satin dress with many layers altered, as it was too large. The work that was done was top notch. Had to take in the entire dress from shoulders to ankles, the alterations were seamless and gave a perfect hourglass silhouette. I would highly recommend, an artist with thread.

Wonderdul service, and a really wonderful job, I came in to get my jeans hemmed as they were too long and to get a skirt fixed because I ripped it, was ready to pick up the next day and everything was just amazing, the person running the place is also very kind, highly recommend

An old but nice quality suit jacket I wore for my wedding 17 years ago (I’m divorced!) needed and deserved altering as I’m much slimmer than I was. The proprietor quickly pinned the sleeves and back and promised a 3 day turnaround. The results are fantastic, it fits like a bespoke tailored suit in a way it never did when it supposedly fit me. I cannot recommend this guy highly enough - very skilled at his work, and an extremely nice man.

I got a dress with a tricky fabric taken up. Excellent job, done quickly, and a friendly welcome too.

We have used this alteration service several times in the last 12 months. The service is excellent, reasonably priced and fast. Aslan, the tailor, is always professional and friendly and honest. Cannot recommend this service highly enough.- Kina and Tom
