I booked The Haywain in advance so my wife and I could meet up with some friends for lunch on our way back from our visit to Swansea. The Pub was very nice and welcoming, the staff very friendly and welcoming also. The food was very good with a wide selection from the menu.We had arranged to meet at 12.30 for lunch but did not realize how big the Haywain was, so my wife and I had parked in front of the pub and our friends had arrived and parked at the side and went into the other bar/restaurant area. It took a little while before we realized that we were both at the pre arranged venue.Anyway, we enjoyed an excellent meal and drinks and will probably visit again when travelling that way.

All the staff were very pleasant and friendly. And the food was excellent. We have never been before but will certainly recommend and visit again soon.

First time here in a long time. 9 friends went for a catch-up. The menu has been updated, and there was a big choice. They don't have a gluten-free menu. You have to look on an app, which was a bit of a pain. Also, when one guest with an allergy asked a specific question for the chef, the answer that came back wasn't helpful - the chef doesn't know"!"

For the value its brilliant and can't be beaten. Food is really nice quality and you don't have to wait long to be served. Kind staff as well

Slow service (over an hour for the starter), no plates cleared from the table and generally mediocre inattention from staff. Food is the usual chain pub fayre; designed to be quick and easy to get out - an area where the Haywain clearly doesn’t excel. If the price were keener I may be back despite the shortcomings but it’s neither a cheap nor particularly pleasurable experience dining here. Could do better.

Great service, meals arrived quick and were great . Big portions and were very tasty. The puddings were amazing. Table of 6 and everyone left very full and happy

I have a gluten intolerance and was looking forward to having a jacket potato when I went for a meal to celebrate my birthday with friends, only to learn that they have stopped doing it. The only meal available for me was a gammon, very disappointed with the selection. Won't be going to the Haywain again despite the fact that it is a 5 minute walk from my house.

Passing through looking for a quick bite and found this cosy restaurant. I personally had the scampi and chips with a Guinness while my family ordered gammons steak and a few appetizers. I would definitely order the same again if we are lucky enough to pass through again. The cherry on the top was the price… hard to beat

This place is always a pleasant experience. I've been here for food a few times, it's absolutely delicious and way above normal pub standard food.We came the other day and it was really busy, the bar staff told us it would probably be up to an hour for food, but that wasn't a problem, we expected to be waiting when we saw how busy it was.Unfortunately they had ran out of several drinks I asked for which was a little frustrating. The food then arrived and it was alright. I think because of how busy it was they were struggling in the kitchen to keep up and it effected the quality of food. It was a shame as normally the food here is excellent. I'm not saying it was bad but just not up to their normal standards. However I can't really complain because we had a 50% off main meals, so two of us had large platters that only cost £6 in the end. So despite my slight complaints I would still strongly recommend visiting the Haywain, I'm sure if it's not as busy you'll be pleasantly suprised by the food.
