Chorleywood station
Lovely station in a great location, very well connected to London and yet on the edge of open countryside. This station is a blast from the past. Has a 1930’s feel and you expect to see a steam train coming through at any moment. Until very recently, you actually could, twice a year, during the fantastic ‘Steam on the Net’ weekends. Right on the edge of Chorleywood Common, the car park out the back is even accessed from there and you get onto the platform with a ticket barrier and just the old school warning that you should possess a ticket from that point. The Metropolitan Line will take you to Amersham or Chesham as you head out of town, or to Baker Street or Aldgate (including fast trains) as you head in. The Chiltern Line subtly different rakes you to Aylesbury, or into London Marylebone. Thee journey into London on either line can take less than half an hour and is both scenic and comfortable. Well worth an explore.

Member of aggressive staff, said I had walked through the gates without paying, which was completely untrue. Not a yob.We had a concealed bottle of wine which was finished upon entering the station, the man proceeded to shout that we still had it on us, again untrue if you looked into the bin next to you outside you’d see it clear as day. Never had a problem before.
