My finance and I came to Grays in search of an engagement ring after feeling slightly overwhelmed at Hatton Gardens. Although Daryl has pole position as one of the first jewellers in the store, it is hard to look elsewhere as he has such a beautiful collection of jewellery! Not only that, but he is very knowledgable, patient and made the whole experience much more enjoyable. After much deliberation, and falling in love with one or two rings...I finally found the one"! I would highly recommend Daryl to anyone searching for a unique piece of jewellery

My fiancé and I spent a day visiting jewellers in Mayfair and Bond Street to find her perfect in engagement ring, and we finally found it thanks to Daryl!He's welcoming, kind and patient - and even resized one my rings free of charge a few months after our initial visit.Many of the other jewellers in this area have a lot of showroom space, but a fairly small selection of rings. Daryl had one of the widest selections we saw on the day, and we felt as though we were dealing with somebody who really cared about what it was that we were looking for, and had an obvious passion for his work.

I went to DB Gems within Grays Antiques in search of an engagement ring and was not disappointed. Daryl was warm and friendly, and since I wasn't really sure what I was after, he let me try on loads of rings with patience.I shortlisted a few rings - one which Daryl was happy to hold for me for a few weeks - and return with my fiance to make the final selection.Having been to a few other antique dealers in London, I can say with confidence that the service was excellent, and I just adore my late Victorian antique beauty! After spending 3-4 hours at Gray's Antiques searching for the perfect emerald engagement ring, Daryl was my last stop and I'm glad he was open! We we're definitely in the right spot, a wonderful diverse selection of antique jewels. Within minutes the brief had been met - 19th century, emerald, diamonds and gold! It came down to the last two rings from the impressive collection of emeralds Daryl had - mid 19th century or early 20th century both emerald trilogy, at this point it was extremely hard to make a decision as both were perfect... An offer had been presented, we could go and have lunch to think it over and the rings would still be there at the price we had agreed on.. so after a quick bite to eat we headed back and spent another 30 mins trying to make a decision! The whole time Daryl was never pushy and gave a professional honest answer to any questions we had, which made our experience that more perfect. Finally the purchase was made and couldn't of been a better outcome, my fiancée absolutely loves her 19th century emerald ring.
