Millennium Gloucester Hotel London Kensington
I stayed here for six nights in September. They bill this as a 4-star hotel. I agree that the entrance, lobby, sculptures, chandeliers, and YOUR bill will be 4-star caliber, but the food, your room, and the service overall will be more in line with a two-star hotel. My room (#625) was outdated and nothing special. The bed was too firm, the AC in my room was noisy and leaked, the bathroom had stains all over the floor and around the sink, paint chipping off the walls. There was a mini fridge but no microwave. There was no English plug adapter for the outlet, so make sure you bring one with you if you're coming from overseas. Luckily I had bought one before my trip and left it in the hotel room after I checked out for the next person to use. Bottled water was provided, but I didn't drink any out of fear I'd get charged an arm and a leg. *Getting into the tub to shower was like climbing Mount Everest. There's no grab bar on the outside, only the inside. So exercise caution! Housekeeping made the bed, emptied the trash (but didn't provide liners), and left me a clean" stained towel in the bathroom one day. Breakfast at this hotel's restaurant was bland

The hotel is beautiful from the outside and the reception room is very nicely decorated. Our room was somewhat outdated and the towels did not smell fresh. The room did not have a window or working air conditioning. By the morning the air in our room was very hot and musty which made us rather sick and dizzy and unable to really enjoy the breakfast.The staff was friendly and we were able to leave our luggage for storage before we checked in which we did appreciate.We stayed close to Halloween and the hotel was decorated accordingly. We personally thought cute pumpkins and friendly ghosts would have been a better and more dignified choice than ugly, decapitated heads hanging from the ceiling by chains. This of course is a matter of taste

Had a very pleasant stay in a spacious room, we were warmly welcomed by Tomi at the reception who gave us good tips for food and museums in the area. Breakfast was good. Should the staff continue to exhibit the same level of friendliness and professionalism, I won’t hesitate to return for another visit .

Hugely disappointed. We booked four rooms for one night each at a total of nearly £1400 and the rooms were very poor; bottled water in two and had to pay room service for two bottles, non working kettle in one, no heater in another and room way to hot in another with none of the issues addressed when raised. The foyer area looks great, the rooms, at least thos to our party, were not.

Busy hotel in a great location. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Breakfast is delicious. The rooms are very well decorated. One minor development point: no biscuits in the room! Not enough to take away a point tho!Would recommend.

Appealing hotel for a family stay, being in a great location a short walk from Gloucester Road tube, local shops and restaurants - and big London attractions. Friendly staff, spacious and clean family room with two double beds which is rare, great breakfast included in the price, with a wide selection of food options. Even had a free drink coupon thrown in on our booking! Room decor was perhaps a little on the tired side but, that said, everything was clean, comfortable and worked great and, overall, it was reasonably priced.

The receptionists' lack of friendliness has raised significant trust issues for me, as it seemed their primary focus was on upselling rather than providing genuine service. Despite informing them of my status as a frequent traveler and my brother being a regular guest, this information appeared to carry no weight in our interactions. It is disheartening to feel that the staff's priorities are geared more towards sales rather than creating a welcoming and accommodating environment for guests. This experience has left me questioning the professionalism and customer-centric approach of the reception staff, which is disconcerting for someone who values loyalty and expects a certain standard of service as a repeat customer.

Lovely hotel. We were greeted by Yasmin. She upgraded our room. Room is spacious and clean. Building seems old. The wallpaper looks tacky. Location is great. 30mins train ride to St Pancras International.

Firstly, upon arrival, I was immediately overwhelmed by an unpleasant odor that persisted throughout my entire stay. The smell was so severe that it heavily impacted my overall comfort and enjoyment during my time at your establishment.Furthermore, the fire alarm system seemed to malfunction constantly, with the alarms blaring throughout the night. This constant noise disrupted my much-needed sleep, causing significant inconvenience and frustration.In addition to these issues, I must address the behavior of your receptionist. The individual at the front desk was consistently rude and unhelpful. This lack of professionalism greatly affected my overall impression of the hotel and its services.Moreover, despite informing the staff about the unsatisfactory condition of my room floor, no action was taken to rectify the situation. The floor remained dirty for the entirety of my three-night stay, despite my repeated requests for assistance.Considering the aforementioned issues, and the lack of resolution despite my communication, I was left with no choice but to seek alternative accommodation.

I booked a double room and was given a room with 2 singles. This was presented as an upgrade but I can’t see my room being better than what others could have been. It was accessible via stairs only. The view is of a blank wall. And the temperature in the room is impossible to adjust. Given the price I had expectations of something nicer.
