Fabulous setting: stunning and unique barn conversion surrounded by acres of farmland in Somerset countryside in atmospheric village with surrounding walks to ancient sites, near Glastonbury! Staff are great. Your experience as a participant will depend on which course you choose but if you want to run an event in complete peace and privacy this is your venue.

At first sight this place isn’t too bad, until you see the rooms and smell the damp. The damp and mould in our dorm was so bad that I was waking up in the night coughing and got a chest infection, it also made our clothes smell. We complained to our group manager (there was no earth spirit staff or customer service to complain to directly). They eventually gave us a dehumidifier and we found out that previous guests had complained about the damp but consequently they’d done nothing about it. It’s disgusting behaviour. The staff who stay in the house next to the dorms had trance music blaring at 1am with the windows open, they really had no consideration and there was only one who was friendly and welcoming. The grounds were unkept, the food was bland and disgusting, bar a few decent lunches. A lot of people got upset stomachs. The beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were soiled, it was musty and unclean and overall it was just a disappointing experience, the only good thing was the people I went with. I have to say though that if you got one of the nicer rooms you might not have a bad experience, the showers were always hot and good water pressure, there is free tea coffee and water and some of the rooms are nice but it’s just a place that lacks love and maintenance, with proper management it could be lovely and spiritual but it seems understaffed and lacks funding. However… I guess you get what you pay for!
