We attended Noosh restaurant having heard about the fantastic food on offer and thinking a Moroccan would be something a bit different to share amongst friends having a catch up.We rang in the afternoon to reserve a table for 13. When we got there on a Saturday night there were around 3 other couple in the restaurant in total, so it certainly was not busy. We all put our orders in and enjoyed catching up. The starters took an unbelievable 1 hour to arrive. Mine was admittedly tasty, but others were cold having no doubt been sitting on the side for some time. Then came the main courses. After some thorough querying with the kitchen staff and the waitress, after a further 45 mins we were told that some of the main courses that we had ordered 90 mins earlier were unavailable, and had to swiftly order something else. (At this point we were very close to leaving for elsewhere, but the evening was getting late and we simply wanted some food!).Our main courses finally arrived - over 2 hours after we first got to Noosh. Some were tasty, some were cold, and some were bizarrely served with McDonnald chips from around the corner.Very, very poor. This took up our whole evening and was by far the worst service I have ever experienced in Newcastle.

myself and my wife dined here tonight. a pleasant unobtrusive place with interesting character. after reading reviews i entered with mixed emotions. however, the staff were attentive, the atmosphere pleasing and the the food very enjoyable. for a friday night the service was excellent. a pleasurable experience.

I TOOK MY GIRLFRIEND TO NOOSH ON A COLD THURSDAY NIGHT AS A CHEAR UP MEAL FOR A LONG WEEK, THE AMBIENCE OF THE RESTAURANT PUT US BOTH AT EASE STRAIGHT AWAY. THE NORTH AFRICAN MUSIC HELPED THAT ALONG, WE WERE SEATED VERY QUICKLY AND LEFT TO LOOK AT THE MENU WITH OUR ORDERED DRINKS, THE FOOD WE ORDERED WAS GREAT, THE STUFFED SARDINE STARTER WAS QUITE LARGE AND TASTED GREAT WITH THE SPICES. I HAD THE CHICKEN TAGINE FOR MY MAIN MEAL AND IT WAS BETTER THAN I WAS EXPECTING AS I COOK THIS KIND OF FOOD AT HOME, MY GIRLFRIEND HAD THE LAMB KABAB WRAP WHICH SHE FOUND DIFFICULT TO FINISH AS THE KEBEB WAS SO LARGE. WE HAD A GREAT NIGHT AND WILL RETURN SOON.

NOOSH is awful on every level. OK so it's a wednesday lunchtime, I'm on a Living Social Voucher. But that's no excuse for overcooked mussels on the turn (fresh in today claimed the inept, inattentive waitress/front of house) in their tepid and flavourless sauce. Which took 40 mins to arrive. With four other people in the restaurant. Then the 'Pizza'...Over stacked with cheese and 'mushrooms', nicely browned on top, but RAW dough on the whole of the base??? How do you fail to cook a pizza in an oven? By grilling it, thats how. Awful chef, awful food, terrible service and then the next day...well you can guess the after effects, even though I sent the pizza back and gave up . Noosh won't be in business much longer if it stays like this. And the open plan kitchen is UGLY, overbright and industrial... Positives....The house red wine, (Tempranillo) is good.
