Wyck Hill

This hotel is set in large grounds and was a stately home in the past.We were there 10 years ago and decided to return. Unfortunately the owners had decided to sell the property and the new owners were not able to accommodate our group of 10 with the full range of amenities advertised when we had originally booked. We decided to continue with our booking as the owners offered discounted room rates.They were not able to offer the evening meal which had been booked so only bed and breakfast basis.The service from the staff was professional and the breakfast was adequate although several items of food were missing from the plate with no explanation other than they were having trouble with the gas hobs.The building was due for a total refurbishment according to the new owners and this was evident in the rooms and public areas which were looking tired decor and design wise. We had a nice time out at some local pubs for food. All in all the hotel was comfortable if a bit shabby in places. I might try it again in another 10 years.

The hotel is lovely, if I were to be picky, perhaps some of the corridors and stairwells are in need of some love. However it was warm, the rooms really comfortable. However what made the weekend for us were the staff. So many went above and beyond to make our weekend so special. Nothing was too much trouble and always done with a smile. The food was excellent, the drinks were well priced and the breakfast was superb. Thank you all for making the weekend special.

Really lovely hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms were large, comfortable and quiet. Great showers and comfy beds. I also thought the breakfast was very good. We loved our stay - thank you!

Second visit to this amazing hotel. Jonathan was a delight and ensured our stay was enjoyable. Service great too. A very quaint hotel in beautiful grounds. We enjoyed the seating area outside looking at the stunning scenery. Absolutely recommend this hotel whether it's a romantic getaway or just a nice weekend with friends. Right on the doorstep of Stow On The Wold and Burford, Broughton On The Water close by too.

Staff throughout the hotel during each part of our stay were very welcoming, professional and accommodating.The treatments in the Spa were fantastic and again the staff were very attentive and friendly whilst professional.The quality of our dinner was amazing, thoroughly enjoyed every course.We went for a feature room which was superb. The bed was so comfortable and the views were amazing.Breakfast was also a delight in the Orangery.The whole experience was extremely relaxing and enjoyable and would definitely recommend. We will stay again next year as also a great location.

Spacious rooms and views are great. Service is top notch also the food is of good quality!

Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend!The positives were the staff were really friendly and the size of the rooms were very big and spacious. The breakfast that was included was also nice with great service.The negatives were the floorboards in the room were unbelievably creaky and loud that it would wake someone up if you stepped out of bed during the night. The biggest negative was the fact we had no hot water at all on our second night. We had a baby and found it simply unacceptable that none of us could wash. After phoning reception to inform them they said they would send the manager to the room… he didn’t turn up. At checkout when I complained about the hot water situation I was given £10 off which personally I don’t think compensated for 2 adults and a baby not being able to wash.Overall the hotel was very dated and not very clear from the outside if it was the correct hotel. We personally wouldn’t stay there again.
