Best Western Kilima Hotel

I have stayed several times this yearIts Spotlessly clean, an old building with individual rooms all slightly grande. I prefer the 1st floor rear / right side rooms as their quiet and light. Its a well managed hotel. The Receptionists are all lovely and helpful, the cleaning staff keep the rooms immaculate. The beds are firm but have quality bedding.The breakfasts are bespoke, well cooked to order, served by friendly lovely staff.The hotel employs local people who are very helpful and knowledgeable of the area.The best secret is the lovely underused pool with small steam sauna and a small but comprehensive gym with light weights.Its a 15 minute walk to the railway station and 20 minutes to the centre.The hotel is in a quiet area except for rush hour.Although it doesn’t do evening meals there is one of Yorks best restaurants- Valentinos- a five minute walk away where reasonably priced excellent food is available- best to book as its very popular.Downside is the lack of continental breakfasts and the en-suites although clean have shower curtains - but thats just a personal thing.Overall its a great place to stay.

The Best Western hotel in York Holgate was terrible dirty showers no pressure in the showers No heat the curtains have not been washed for six years and only bedding underneath was filthy and disgusting and this old furniture that is falling apart and unsafe to use and I was charged over 1000 Pound to stay in the smallest room what was discussed in and dirty and had cobwebs all over and I did not get any discount or refund back because they did not care about any helping myself and others who are from a different country

I had to depart before breakfast was served, and when I mentioned this to the staff, they kindly prepared a delicious bag of breakfast to go for me. It was such a thoughtful gesture that went above and beyond my expectations.One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's swimming pool. It was well-maintained and offered a refreshing retreat after a long day of exploring the city. The added bonus of the steam room made the experience even more enjoyable. It was a perfect way to unwind and relax.I was thoroughly impressed with Kilma Hotel and its excellent amenities. The clean and comfortable rooms, coupled with the exceptional service, made my stay truly memorable. The attention to detail and the dedication of the staff to ensure a pleasant experience for their guests was remarkable.Without a doubt, I will choose Kilma Hotel for my future visits to York. The combination of friendly and helpful staff, along with the fantastic swimming pool and steam room, creates an unforgettable experience. Cheap hotel for the location. Amazing service. Loved the receptionist and staff in restaurant. Very helpful. Had a laugh and was only there one night. Good food. Room acceptable.

The floors creaked and you could hear every movement from thr rooms next door and thr room smelt and there was a very large pillar between the two beds in the twin room so not very pleasant at all

The room we got is nice and spacious. Basic amenities expected for a 3 star hotel are there. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. Service is top notch. Happy with our 3 night stay.

My wife and I enjoyed the homelike atmosphere and excellent service. Chris and his team do an amazing job. Also, the hotel is convenient to York city center but away from the hustle and bustle. We plan to stay there again.

Had a lovely stay here visiting York. The staff were lovely, genuinely welcoming and friendly throughout. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The 10m swimming pool was fab - spotlessly clean and we had it almost to ourselves both times we used it (we did go at an off peak time) - easily accessible from the rooms. Breakfast was delicious. Free parking as we booked over the phone, and could walk to the city centre at a gentle pace in 20 mins. I couldn't fault it and would highly recommend.
