Greengates Boarding Cattery

Lovely cattery, caring ❤ Judith and Jim go out of their way to ensure our cat is well looked after. The cattery is clean and very well maintained. We have used their services for nearly 16 years now. Thank you both for your dedication and professionalism.

Really lovely cattery! I have always felt able to take my cat there without needing to worry, knowing he will be well looked after. I have only had positive experiences over the last 5 years of using this cattery. Roger likes having the indoor or outdoor option!

The staff are really lovely and so are the rooms. They go to great trouble to maintain your cat’s diet (although you will have to supply any medicated stuff) and the whole place smells really good, not like cat pee or anything. I don’t think cats on the whole like going to catteries but this one is the nicest I’ve seen and kept my cat in!

A very caring couple own the Cattery and are meticulous in their cleanliness of each runs/pens.

Charlie's first time here he was very nervous but they were very kind and really cared about his welfare and knew that if he didn't eat not to give insulin most impressed with their obvious love of their wardsMany thanks

We used Greengates for a month over Xmas/New year last year, he loved it. He normally loses some condition whilst in a cattery. Not here he came out looking better than ever - had been brushed, cuddled and spoilt every day. He didn't want to leave when we came to pick him up, he was more interested in getting cuddles from the owner!

We have 2 extremely spoilt cats & have tried various catteries in the past but the experience has always left them very traumatised. Yesterday, when we picked them up from their first stay at Greengates Cattery it was totally different!! They were relaxed, happy, & content & when we got them back home it's as tho they had never been away. No trauma! At last!! A cattery where we feel happy to leave them knowing that they are obviously very well cared for & content!! Judith & Jim are such lovely, caring people & were totally reassuring when we explained our concerns when first visiting.We needn't have worried. Their love of cats, all animals & nature, shines through. Thank you both so very much. Our cats will be happy to stay with you again!!

My cat has visited the cattery on two occasions. He has dreadful allergies and has had a cone on his neck to prevent him from scratching his face. Greengates were happy to give him all his meds and they'd really thought through how to keep him safe with the cone in his pen. I'm delighted to say that this time they've done such a good job that we've been able to remove the cone. Thank you so much! Muddles is delighted he'd had the cone on since mid-March so its a huge deal for him to be able to go out again. The Greengates cattery is lovely and the team there really care.

I went to my usual cattery recently, only to find they had 'gone away'! As I was moving house imminently I needed to find a new cattery quickly. I remembered Greengates up near the airport and paid them a visit. They were welcoming, courteous and very helpful. Jim showed me round all the rooms for cats and work in progress. They were beautifully neat and clean with heated blankets raise on a platform above the eating area and bathroom facilities. The cats had access to outdoor pens. The cats I saw there were all very relaxed. So I booked my two in. When I collected them I was told that my 19yr old cat Summer may have a kidney problem. They gave me renal food pouches for the next day and recommended a visit to the vet. Which I did. And she does and we're steadily improving. Brilliant place, pretty, rural, reasonably priced. When we came to see the cattery we were promised a different area for my cats and when we arrived we were given a much smaller area. The lady was very good and gave us all the assurance. On the day we picked up our cats they were both traumatised and I’ve never seen them like this. The guy we saw was very rude and had no caring nature. He gave us some concerns but never did anything about it for 2 days. It felt like he had too much trouble with my cats. If only I had met him when we came to see the cattery as I would’ve not let them stay there. I will not be returning. I have seen an experienced Vet today and what I was advised by the guy is not true.
