Friendly pub with good reasonably priced menu.3rd visit & still no real ale option ( Greene King IPA an average alternative)Needs some work on better fries.Probably 3 and a half stars.

Love this place and usually the service is top notch however this time it was sadly lacking. We waited over an hour after ordering for the food to arrive. It was busy when we first arrived but soon emptied out people who arrived after us were being served before us. We asked the staff twice for an indication of when the food would arrive but still we waited. We will go back and hope we don't have to wait as long next time.

Great community pub. Spacious, clean and great atmosphere. Food is decent and you can usually get a seat even when busy. There are quizzes and monthly independent markets held here, something for everyone. Pity there's no cask ale, but overall a great pub.

We visited Poppies for lunch during December, the staff are always wonderful and happy to accommodate. The food is amazing and generally a lovely place to eat. Highly recommend.

My experience was not very good it was my 60th birthday and there was 13 of us and we got put right next to the door with my 88 year old dad it was freezing!!There was plenty of unused tables when I asked to move she said she couldn't but the whole time we were there know one was on them tables!! She could have put us on the other table and just said they needed them by 4 but no!! A special birthday but sorry to say not very special for me!! 4 of us had the chicken dinner what can I say chichen was dry roast potatoes was hard not edible and the gravy well looked like tea drowning the food!! The other 9 was ok not great!! My fiancé come here for a funeral and said it was the best buffet he had ever had that's why we come here!! It was the 3rd of December we come maybe it was just an off day but I was gutted

Love this place. We go as often as we can when we are home in England. Food always hot and fresh. Service is nice and friendly. It does get really busy though, which is great to see the business being successful. Been here for brunch and afternoon tea. A fab experience each time Carry on ladies. We love Poppies ❤️❤️

Love it, cozy in the inside with loads of seating. They also have a good seating at their beer garden. Food is affordable and was impressed with it, definitely coming back and trying other stuff. Staff were very friendly and very nice, they kept on clearing tables of glasses. Menu had good choices of food and I liked the kids menu which was very affordable too. My kids enjoyed the mini play ground at the beer garden.

I have been wanting to visit here for a breakfast for a long time as my partner does highly recommend it as do the reviews however I was extremely disappointed after being told on the phone don't worry about reservations we will always be accommodated but to then find out when we arrived they allow dogs in here and we were offered seating very near to where a dog was even though we told them I was allergic. My partner has never seen a dog in here otherwise we would never have gone, why oh why do pubs/restaurants think they have to pander to people who think they have to take their dogs wherever they go especially to places that serve food, food and dogs do not go and how do they get scores on the doors when allowing dogs, the place even stinks of dogs. I have nothing against dogs it's their owners and proprietors who think they have to pander to them for that extra shilling. Anyway we both walked out so for the sake of allowing dogs they've lost our custom.

Poppy's at the Woodlands, has easy accessibility, is lovely and clean. The service is great, the food is scrummy and not over priced. I'll definitely be going back.
