Small(ish) Screwfix. The staff are always friendly and get what you need quickly. They are always ready to help if you're not quite sure what you're after. Only problem is it's next to my flat so I spend way too much!

An Argos style shop is perfect for this kind of stuff. Their selection is huge and reasonably priced! The catalog is pretty perfect for getting ideas on your next DIY project too.The staff are helpful, and the location of the shop is pretty good too. Not a huge amount of parking nearby but you should be able to get in somewhere close.

Ordered item online no bother. Confirmation it was ready arrived same morning. Went to pick up in afternoon, and there was the most efficient system in place for keeping customers and staff safe and a man there radioing in our order numbers in advance while we queued outside at a safe distance apart. Genius.
