Matalan

Nicely laid out and much clearer than Matalan usually are.Leaks in ceiling means some of menswear cut off.Couldn’t find any 42S suit jacket so will look online.

Nice shop, helpful staff, decent selection for men, women and children of all ages.

Went to Matalan at Pallion, for some summer clothes.Have bought a lot from this store in the past.I was looking for Shorts, all the sizes were M,L,XL etc.I couldn’t find anyone available to ask on the floor, so went up to checkouts.Asked for some help, regarding what size the XL was to be told by Diane that it was Extra Large in a tone that wasn’t appreciated/sarcastic.I replied by asking if that was 38,40,42 etc she didn’t know.i was seen them by Hazel who didn’t know either and looked inside the shorts to see if she could find it.I had the same make and style shorts already and they had the proper size inside.I’d looked in the new ones and couldn’t find it and neither could Hazel.She then rang upstairs to check.Confirming they were 38.Then I picked up some shirts and returned to the checkout Hazel asked if I was ok to use the self service, which I did.She was there to help when I was stuck.A few minutes later my partner and the kids went to the checkout (were no customers at the time). with a couple of toys they’d picked up.Went to the cash/returns till.Diane was on there.Asked my partner if she was paying by card or cash my partner replied whichever.To be told that she could use the self service.My partner did so but really she went to the till cos she wanted someone to serve her.If it hadn’t been for the fact I got my shorts n shorts with some help from Hazel this review would’ve been a ONE ⭐️.Tbf Diane might’ve been having a bad time at home or personal life, I don’t know.But not good in general.

Ok. I love Matalan. Clothes fit well, good range, great prices. BUT. Self service checkouts are a nightmare !! There is one 'proper' checkout, but seamed to be dealing with returns, and there was a huge que... The self serve tills are confusing. There isn't enough room if you have more than a couple of items. I gave up. I walked out. I bought elsewhere..

A typical Matalan store...cheap clothing for children ,youths and small adults...the larger sizes are rarely. in stock...I'm big not fat..!! 2XL seems to be their max size...

Got a nice coat for the granddaughter for school. Self checkout quick and easy

Good variety of clothing and household items. I just wished they stocked more clothing for us shorter, older women.

Helpful staff, lost my receipt and needed to change size. The staff allowed me to with no hassle at all
