Mead Family Funerals

When I recently lost my Mum, Jem and Karen of Mead Family Funerals were there for me and my family every step of the way . In fact they became one of my family during this time , helping and guiding us through the hard process of saying goodbye … without being intrusive in any way, they took away the worry and anxiety of making the funeral arrangements and gave my Mum and my family , care, kindness and respect and for that we will always be grateful. They do the little things that touch your heart . Mum joined my Dad with dignity and in peace..Thank you both so much.

My mum Sylvia passed away April 2023, It all happened so quickly that day , we were all in left in shock , my dad had passed away nearly 4 years previously ,we had forgotten what we were supposed to do , but we really needn’t have worried as soon as I contacted mead family funerals , jem and Karen were amazing with us they listened they advised, they gave us plenty of hugs which were needed treated mum with such dignity and respect as if she were there own family .They organized everything, they took all the pressure away from us allowing us to grieve ,mum had the perfect send off it was a beautiful day everything went perfectly, jem and Karen you are exceptional ,caring , kind people Thank you so much ❤️Sandie

My Dad Tony passed away in January 2023 leaving myself and my family very saddened and mourning his loss. On top of all this for the first time I was left with the daunting task of organising dads funeral and everything else to do with his death.Asking Meads to do the funeral was the best thing I could have done as they were amazing. From the first initial visit by Jem to the day of the funeral itself nothing was to much trouble.Jem lifted a massive weight off our shoulders and sorted everything out that he could. It felt like he was one of the family and he even gave me help and advice with the few elements that I had to deal with. Everyone at Meads treated myself and my family with respect and the upmost care.On the day of the funeral Jem and his team were faultless, the cars arrived to collect us and Jem gave mum a hug and checked we had locked the house, been to the loo and had our keys to get back in later that day, I thought that was a very nice thing to do.Jem and the team instructed myself and my brother on how to carry dads coffin as part of their bearer party and together we carried him in. I can’t thank them enough for helping us to carry out that final act of love for our dad.Everything went like clockwork and that made an awful day a lot more bearable.Special thanks to Jem, Karen, Chris, Dave and everyone else involved. I would not hesitate to recommend you to family and friends in the future. You were excellent.

Warmth, kindness and compassion radiated down the phone and I knew that Nicola and I had chosen the right people to look after our beautiful mum.When we met Jem, his warmth, empathy and sense of humour simply reinforced our decision. He made the overwhelming task so easy; he listened to everything we wanted and when we were unsure, he offered gentle guidance. His professionalism, high standards, extensive knowledge and experience, gave us complete confidence that he and Karen would look after everything for us.On the day, Mum’s funeral was just perfect in every way. It was everything we wanted and more. Jem and Karen’s attention to detail is second to none and the hard work they put in to make the day personal, special and memorable is clear to see.At every stage, before, during and after the funeral, Jem and Karen have shown us and all our family, genuine care and kindness. They could not have looked after our mum better and we genuinely felt as if they treated us and our mum, like we were members of their very own family.We have recommended Mead Family Funerals to all our family and friends and when the time comes for us to say farewell to another loved one, we would never engage anyone else. I cannot thank Jerry and Karen enough for their kindness, care and support through such a difficult time for us.They went above and beyond to try and make our fathers funeral and service as lovely as it could be with the situation and guidelines we are facing.Everything we asked for was never a problem and would always find a way around it or a solution and in a professional manner.They really see the importance of losing a loved one and put that first before anything else. My wife Karen sadly passed away in January 2022. I was devasted, tearful and unsure about the whole procedure of organising a funeral - my first time.
