Delhorn Boarding Kennels & Cattery

Friendly and wonderful with my Rottweiler. Really felt like my dog was in good hands when we went on a weeks holiday. Lovely clean and specious kennels and will be using them from now on.

Absolutely first class kennels! Sue has looked after our dog on many occasions - even at short notice. Anyone who needs a boarding kennel for their dog would be really hard pressed to find anywhere better.Highly recommended.

I entrusted Delhorne with my two dogs when my husband and I were away getting married. The dogs had not been in kennels before and I made sure they were aware of this. No advise was given and I wasn't offered a tour of their facilities. I can only assume that the stress of being in kennels had made my dogs have disagreement which lead to them having a fight. The kennels called and told me what had happened and I explained that I was more than two hours away getting married but to do whatever they needed to do and to please treat them as if they were their own. I was assured they'd be cleaned up and taken to the vets if needed but was told in his opinion they didn't need veterinary care. Being so far away I could only rely upon what I was told. When I returned a day later than expected (I'd advised them of this and was assured they were fine) to picked them up I was horrified, they were totally plastered in excrement and dried blood and their wounds hadn't been cleaned at all and they were badly infected. They smelt so bad I had to have all the windows open and valet the car afterwards. Took them home and showered them and the water was black. I then took them to the vet and they were disgusted, if they'd have been left there a day longer then dave my Doberman could have lost his ear or worse. My other dog was also in a terrible state and also needed veterinary care. My dogs can be trusted 100% and have never shown any aggression towards people so there was no excuse for how they were left. The doberman especially has the best temperament I've ever come across in any dog. I've owned and showed dogs all my life and have also studied canine psychology so I know what I'm talking about.Thank goodness I had paid by cheque so I immediately cancelled it to cover some of the vet bill. I then emailed the kennels and told them that I had cancelled it and why and told them how disgusted I was. I'm not blaming the fact my dogs had an altercation on the kennels, I would of however expected better advice from them upon arrival. I am blaming them for the total lack of care afterwards. You could clearly see that no attempt had been made to clean or care for them.The vile woman chased me for the money for quite a while, I told her she I wasn't happy to pay for her lack of services, she threatened court and I counter threatened because of vet bills. She still hounded me with texts. When I told the woman to leave me alone and that I had more important things going on in my life than to worry about her. We'd just lost mum and dad within 30 days of each other. She told me that the Lord moves in mysterious ways. Which just goes to show what a horrid lady she is.This woman and her husband shouldn't be allowed to keep animals

Brilliant kennels I’ve been using them for the past 5 years and not had any problems. Friendly staff who always seem happy to help. Definitely would recommend.

Very happy with these kennels.....my dog is not the easiest to handel , Sue was great and will nothesitate to send her there again......thanks Sue

Update: I still live here, I've been here for 15 years now. The dogs are still fluffy, and I'm just as happy to come and fuss them. Sue & Bob are looking at retirement in the near future, but we will remain in business until at least January. Thank you all so much for your continued support.

We took our husky here We were away for 1 week and when we got him back he was not the same dog he is very nervous and dose not won't to come in the house he will go out in the garden he ducks when you go to stroke himi believe he was notLooked after very wellHe won't be going there again please people don't take your pets thair

Thank you to EVERYONE at Delhorn Kennels for looking after my Lister so well, it was the first time staying and there was no need for me to worry he loved it there he came back very happy and I know he was very well looked after, I would not put my dog any where else!I highly recommend this kennels to anyone, as it was recommended to me by my friend who has been using the kennels for 12 years.Thank you so much Sue for looking after Lister he’s already looking forward to his next stay!

Absolutely 1st class kennels have boarded my dogs there for a number of years now ,never had a complaint, nothing is hidden from you and the dogs don't comeback smelly unlike other kennels I have used in the past

Non stop barking all through the night. From 10 pm till 2am or later ridiculous for the surrounding area to deal with. Dogs are obviously not happy if they're distressed enough to be barking at all ours and left to do so.
