Dr Beynon's Bug Farm
A wonderful day out, really educational and packed with information about bugs. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the different critters and took the plunge and booked the experience where my Son and I got to hold some of the bugs. The Grub kitchen was another adventure, I had the bug burger, chips and salad which was delicious. For those who aren't brave enough to eat the bugs you can always buy a bag of bugs to snack on, in your own time. Definitely worth visiting.

When we visited it was a very rainy day and we were not able to enjoy any of the outside activities unfortunately such as the walks and trails but they did look nice. The majority of our visit was focused around the indoor attractions which consisted of a British bug zoo and museum, a tropical bug zoo, the grub kitchen and the art gallery/meet the bugs room. The grub kitchen was an experience where a selection of food items could be purchased containing edible insects however we were not brave enough to try them so chose more traditional items from the menu.I would recommend the meet the bug experience for a small extra charge of £2. Two very knowledgeable and friendly handlers spoke about several creatures, allowing everyone who wanted the opportunity to hold them to do so.The entry price overall seemed quite expensive for what we were able to do however I'm sure it would've seemed much better value if we'd been able to enjoy the outdoors. Would recommend to anyone with kids who enjoy minibeasts!

My partner and I happily spent a couple of hours visiting the bug farm and eating at their grub café. The food was incredible, with or without the insects. I was pleasantly surprised at how genuinely tasty the roasted crickets were, and we picked up a couple of snack bags from the shop to take home! The owner and other staff were very friendly and clearly passionate about what they do, and it was great to speak to them about the different insects in the tropical bug zoo, and the whole edible insects topic. Definitely worth a visit.

Very nice and educational. Mostly focus on bugs as food, would be nice if there was some information on how the bugs are farmed on a large intensive scale. Nonetheless very interesting place to visit for every age.

Do not miss this it is awesome! We went on a whim for a break from walking the Wales Coast Path and were not disappointed. Great value for money and very interesting and educational. Your kids will love it! We also did the hands on experience which was well presented with a very knowledgeable young lady. Great to handle the bugs or just look at them if you don’t want to. The cafe is great with a wonderful selection of insect based foods and regular food. I really enjoyed the big burger and chilli crickets. Very laid back place to spend and hour or several hours. Staff are super friendly on a genuine level. Don’t miss this place.

We visited Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm and loved it! The Museum gives lots of interesting information and the Tropical Bug Zoo room was amazing - I could have watched the leaf cutter ants all day. We were given a very warm welcome and the interactive bug experience was fantastic - my partner is blind and being able to handle various bugs was great, the 2 young ladies who led the session were fantastic. Food at the Grub Kitchen was excellent - we had a bug burger and vegan burger - delicious. It was really interesting walking outside, seeing and smelling various farm crops, hearing the bumble bees, and seeing various farm animals enjoying their home.

Great day out, spent 4 hours here with lunch and a play in the park. If it wasn't raining we would have spent longer wandering the gardens. Meet an insect session was great, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable! Great value for money. Food in the cafe was good and good fun trying the crickets!

It was cool but it felt like going to a seaside town out of season as there was a few things on the leaflet which were either out of order or just not there at all.We got a post card and two bottles of coke which came to £4 so going off that the price for the Grub kitchen are decent. (Being a tourist in the area I'm used to paying £2+ for a bottle of coke so that's a plus.)The highlight of the visit however was the tropical bug section. If the ticket price was perhaps a little bit lower I would gladly pay to just go and see that section.
