Tesco Extra

I was discriminated against by an elderly checkout lady at this Tesco Store because she had nothing better to do. Cashier stopped me (NOT SECURITY) and started going through my shopping from another store. There was a receipt for all the items from the other store but she continued to take things out of the bag. We then challenged her because there is a manned security station and told her that this was not her job and if Security have an issue then they will do their job. She stopped immediately but insisted that she was allowed to do this. I asked her if she treated all customers like this or just the Asian customers. She started to panic. I have lodged a complaint with the national helpdesk and they said they will investigate it because the cashier should not have stopped me because there is a manned security station at this store. Funny thing is that they will not give me any further updates as this contravenes staff confidentiality. However, I was the victim of the staff's discriminatory behavior. I bet they do nothing and have just fobbed me off. Disgusting.

Great customer service today at the Batley store.Ali went above and beyond and really helpful, helped me with finding items as am new in Batley , and waited patiently till I done my shopping .well done Ali the Egyptian king

Ginger girl on customer service desk is beyond rude. Not wearing a name badge so she can get away with it. How can you work on the customer service desk and be instantly rude and laugh at customers? Shouldn’t be around humans let alone working with them.

Always found good place for shopping, mostly staffs are helpful, u can find most of stuff under one roof , always busy , I found myself uncomfortable with some of staff on tills

good selection but says online closes at midnight and so i went after finishing work at 9pm plus 20 min drive and got asked to leave at 9:15pm? opening/closing times need updating or open until it says on website

I honestly cannot praise Tescos in Batley highly enough. I had been forced into doing the weekly shop due to my husband fracturing his ribs. As it is one of my most hated pastimes, I decided to place an online same day click and collect for when I finished work at 6pm.I found out later in the day the payment card had failed due to a MasterCard issue so almost had a meltdown believing that I would have to wander round for 2 hours buying food for the family after a particularly horrible day at work.I phoned the store and Mark in customer services came to my rescue. My order was there, ready for me at the customer service desk ready to be scanned through in order for me to pay cash instead. This was all done for me within a matter of minutes.Mark then took all my groceries to my car and bagged them with me and put them into my car for me.I do believe this was exceptional customer service on behalf of Mark who completely understood the pressure I was under on Tuesday and dropped everything for me to ensure I didn't have to wait any length of time in collecting my weekly shop.I would like to thank Mark for helping me out of the predicament I found myself in with speed and efficiency. Lovely person, extremely professional and went above and beyond for me. Please pass on my comments to him. Kindest regards Debbie

Great customer service today at the Batley store... checkout assistant Ellen went above and beyond and really helpful, helped with packing, and waited patiently while I found my clubcard and coupons..my husband is disabled with a brain injury and gets really irritated, she picked up on the situation straight away and made my shopping experience less stressful... Disability is not always obvious...well done will definitely be back

Mostly shop at Tesco, however, two tills open at peak time in the evening with huge queues, needs revising. Most of the staff are helpful and pleasant but some of the younger ones are quite rude and lacking in customer service skills unfortunately.

Absolute shower of ****, close tills when others are queueing. Self service tills rammed, staff manning them are so slow it's unbelievable. Manager should be sacked as staff slackness is a reflection of the slackness of management.
