The Dog Ami

Having previously tried different training methods with my two miniature dachshunds, meeting Aftab has been a breath of fresh air. His knowledge of canine behaviour is extensive, he was thorough in explaining the psychology behind their behavioural issues and was able to demonstrate clearly how to put the exercises/recommendations into practice to resolve these. I have enjoyed working with Aftab and would highly recommend his services, I wish I had contacted him sooner!

Aftab has been so helpful with helping us understand the behaviour of our cocker spaniel, who has become reactive towards intact younger male dogs. We have a really good insight now into what triggers him and how best to avoid and handle any such situation. I have noticed improvements already and have also been working on improving my dog's impulse control, thanks to the advice from Aftab. I highly recommend him and look forward to working with him again in the future as he has really helped us so much and it is making the bond with our dog even stronger.

Overall thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding. Aftab has been extremely helpful with our two Great Danes and has an incredible understanding of dog behaviour, getting across how we should be with them. He has a gentle but determined approach with the dogs and makes life interesting for the dogs and owners. I would highly recommend Aftab.

Our German Shepherd is highly reactive on the lead and barks and lunges at any distraction. After only a few days she is making amazing progress and we now feel equipped with the knowledge and strategies to help her become the dog we know she can be. Aftab did wonders for our dogs and their relationship, aswell as helping us understand where we had gone wrong.My 2 dogs kaya and rio have not be getting along, rio escalated to dangerous level bites to create space with kaya. We contacted Aftab after seeing other trainers, hoping he could give us a different perspective of things. And he did! We realised our other dog kaya was actually the main issue we had to focus on, something that we considered but never knew for sure. A lot of our training was focused on kaya, making sure she understood there where boundaries around Rio, working on a place command and having small sessions with them both where we work on counter conditioning rios emotional response to kaya.And after one session, we where able to really approach our dogs relationship differently. Aftab was honest and cared deeply about our dogs (and our) success. And we were left with a much better understanding about our dogs behaviours and how to combat it.Since aftabs visit, we haven’t had a single altercation with teeth involved. And all the minor incidesnts we’ve had we’ve been able to quickly de-escalate using the advice Aftab gave us, and Rio is learning to use her voice and body language to communicate instead of going into a full on bite. and also she’s gaining trust in us that we will make sure kaya listens to all her warnings.Going with Aftab was the best decision we made for our girls and I would highly recommend him to anyone experiencing behavioural challenges with their dogs.
