With the hot weather should put some limit on how long people can stay. We tried twice, both times chaotic at the entrance and wouldn't allow in as full. The guy recommended coming back later. They were closing in 45 minutes! Some people had clearly been there the whole day. Not worth the pain.

Great place for an outdoor swim . Water always a good temperature.Staff very pleasant.

Clean. Beautiful blue pool . Just the right temperature. Well organised and welcoming. Ring to book. Has not got it's own car park and disabled access would not be easy but steps into the pool. Very small children would need supervision as its quite deep. I had a wonderful swim after 6 months without.

Lovely place to swim in warm weather, friendly staff. Naturist swim once a month. I hope they find a way (crowd funding?) to get a new roof to make it an all year round pool again,

It turns out I've driven past the main road to this pool on numerous occasions, yet it took a global pandemic to for me to discover this gem in Shaftesbury...It's an outdoor community pool run by a smallish town council - therefore the management have completely excelled themselves in getting their pool open for the remainder of the 2020 season, at a time when most of the bigger operator have not opened many of their pools (including all the pools near my home of Trowbridge). It is well worth the drive from Trowbridge (or anywhere else for that matter)...The pool itself has a really good feel - it maintains some of it's history, like the quirky gates at the entrance, but also feels well maintained and looked after - you really get a feel that this placed is 'loved'.The staff are impeccably friendly and very capable. If anyone needs reminding about something for safety (ie children not taking risks jumping off floats) this is done in a very supportive way - no whistle-happy lifeguards here!I mostly come here to get fit after the COVID lockdown (and to enjoy the atmosphere of outdoor swimming), but was able to bring my family along last week for our first family swim since lockdown began. Our 3 year old daughter had a great time and absoloutely loved every minute.Finally, the COVID-safe measures all feel very well thought out with a good one-way system, hand sanitiser, socially distant markings in the changing rooms and pre-arrival information sent out the day before each booked session and so on. Social distancing in the pool is relatively easy and there are only a limited amount of people in the pool at any one time.I'd Highly recommend the Shaftestbury Oasis for a COVID-safe swim, but am sure we'll be back again, long after COVID-19!
