At Home Childcare - Mary Reid

Mary has become like family, she is kind, warm, responsive and thoughtful. I love that they go to the woods nearly every day and spend so much time in a natural environment. She emphasises play and creativiity and has created a community around our children. But most importantly our toddler loves going there, he literally jumps up and down in excitement when we tell him he's going to Mary's! Thank you so much Mary, Nic and Hannah x

Mary is great. My son has been with her since January doing part time with her and part time at nursery. He always asks to go to Mary’s house on nursery days! He loves that they go to the forest or park every day, has made lovely friendships, and gets to do tons of creative play and exploration. She provides a really calm and nurturing environment where the children feel safe and can thrive. Can’t recommend her and Nic her assistant enough!

We couldn’t recommend Mary and her team highly enough, or wish to have found a more caring, loving and nurturing setting for our little one. Wonderful updates on the weeks activities showing the fantastic sensory play and regular trips to the forest for outdoor exploration. And the menu each week always looks delicious not to mention very balanced of course! A wonderful childminder through and through!

Our boy has been with Mary since before he could crawl (he's now 2, and running, jumping, climbing, talking and singing). He always looks forward to seeing Mary and the friends he's made. He does so much with her, and has learned so much. I am especially happy that he has had such a supportive and loving environment in which to learn to play with other children. I feel totally confident leaving our son in Mary's capable hands. We are blessed to know Mary Reid.

Our toddler joined Mary in September when he was 18 months old. From the minute we met Mary there was not only a huge sense of relief but excitement. Relief knowing we had found a childminder who met our values and excitement knowing that not only would be cared for but that he would grow from the experience and time with Mary. They thing I noticed right away was her ability to recognise each child’s individual needs and interests. I feel so lucky that we found Mary, I totally trust that she will meet our child’s needs, he’s always very happy to go there. Her communication is excellent and the kids always look like they are having lovely adventures in the photos we receive. Thank you!

Our 2 year old has been with Mary for almost a year. We came to Mary after our child didn't settle well in Nursery. Mary has been amazing. Our child loves going to her (asks to go on days off!) and has made great friends. They are outdoors pretty much every day and do fun and educational playing when they're indoors. I honestly can't recommend Mary Reid highly enough

Mary and her team do such a fantastic job. Our little boy has a brilliant time there - when we arrive he disappears into the door with a smile on his face, ready for the days adventures. There's a great emphasis on outdoor learning and child-led activities. Friendships are really nurtured and fostered. Mary always communicates well, both in person on the doorstep but also with pictures and updates outside of childcare time. All of the parents are connected and share info and ideas on whatsapp too, which has been a real bonus. We've really seen our son develop his confidence over the time he's been with Mary and couldn't recommend At Home Childcare more highly.

We feel so lucky to have found Mary’s service. Our 3 year old moved from a local nursery to Mary’s In September 2020. Despite our child having to attend relatively long hours during the week, it has been such a relief to be able to go to work feeling so confident that he is in a loving nurturing setting. I really think our little one feels like the adults and children at Mary’s are part of his extended family. Mary clearly has a huge amount of knowledge and experience of child development and early years education which we really value but more than that it is the genuine love she shows for the kids which shines through. We love the way the kids get out every day into the nearby woods in Arno’s vale and make the most of the wild places- our little one has really developed a confidence in an an appreciation for the outdoors despite living in the middle of the city.
