Nice clean room with comfy bed. Lots of stairs with no lift so be warned if you are carrying luggage. Not too far from Heathrow parking.

Great atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Good food.

Really enjoyed the stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room i had was quite small but well appointed and spotlessly clean. There isn't a lift so may cause difficulties for those who have mobility difficulties. The food and service in the restaurant was brilliant. Fairly priced and good quality. A shout goes out to Adam our waiter who looked after us very well. All in all a great experience and thoroughly recommended.

Staff were extremely helpful, every member of staff I spoke to were friendly and willing to help. Room was clean and comfortable. I had a free upgrade because of work going on near the room I should have been in. Having this was extremely handy as I had a 5.30am start to drive to Spain. My stay was relatively short but from what I saw the service 5 star. I will be back!

Nice building, location and friendly staff, who did accommodate us by allowing us into the room earlyRoom was clean and although a bit dated, still looked nice.However, the bed was extremely hard and we did not sleep well at all. In the end I got up at 6.30am to have a shower and sit in the chair. Breakfast toast and porridge portions could have been a bit more generous.

Clean and tidy room. Bit dated on the whole, could do with some retouches here and there. We had a south facing room on the hottest day of the year so did not sleep well. The small fan in the room did nothing.

Perfectly decent room and good value, attentive staff, decent range of beers.However, sorely disappointed by our afternoon meal. 5pm ish Sunday afternoon, and we were evidently served whatever they had left after the lunchtime rush, and getting geared up for the evening. Roast Beef, not much of it, seemed to be a little tough, and along with the veg, Yorkshire, gravy, etc, none of it more than cool, medium warm. Had a member of staff approached us at any time during the meal, would have been delighted to advise our displeasure. Not particularly good value and disappointing.

Very clean rooms, good food and lovely staff. We enjoyed our stay so much we stayed for lunch the next day.

Recently stayed here, Rooms although clean & Tidy, very dated & could do with Modernising.Service in Restaurant for Breakfast was almost Non Existing No Coffee Cups, No Menus, No Staff Around, & when someone did appear it was attitude like, ( Damn another customer) not a feeling of welcome.I've stayed in a few Vintage Inn Hotels in the past, but i was not very impressed with The Colney Fox.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and did not feel like your typical impersonal bed and breakfast, it also felt surprisingly private. The bed was extremely comfortable and both myself and my other half slept soundly through until morning without being disturbed by noise from the pub’s customers coming and going or the nearby road. The bathroom was very clean and more than adequately sized for our needs. Martin and his team were friendly, welcoming and attentive from the moment we arrived and I’d like to say a big thank to both him and the rest of the staff, We were so happy with the feel of the pub we decided to have dinner there instead of venturing into St. Albans to find a restaurant and we weren't disappointed that we did, dinner was very nice indeed and breakfast was even better! I’ll definitely be staying at the Colney fox again, thank you all.
