I've just spoken to Andy and renewed our insurance, with a couple of changes. He was an absolute dream and made me understand the benefits of adding a voluntary excess on my building insurance. Really, REALLY happy with exceptional level of service. Picked up phone really quickly and spoke to a lovely human.... When does that ever happen now?! Keep doing what you are doing Home Protect and give that Andy a pay rise. He's just managed the unthinkable by making insurance interesting and fun! Thank you!

Friendly and super efficient service over the telephone. Amazing to be able to have a dialogue with a person rather than 'self-serve' on a web-site. Great, very competitive quote. One improvement would be to have the choice of getting T&C's / schedule by post rather than only on web-site.

I have a story of two parts. The final outcome was really good but difficulties getting there.My house is not a standard construction building and is located on the sea front close to the sea. I had a quote from an insurance broker which was extremely expensive. A friend suggested that I try Homeprotect on line. After completing the online questions I was offered a quote that was half the price that I already had. so I signed up. The next day I found that I had answered a question incorrectly. the question was: - have you made a claim for damage on home insurance in the last five years?" I realised that although I had answered "no" in fact I had actually made a claim about 4 years ago on a different property (with a different insurance company) for storm damage to my roof. So I phoned Homeprotect to correct my wrong answer. Somehow

A very straight forward and simple whilst also receiving important advice, from staff, relating to the cover I was seeking. Having completed and online questionnaire and obtaining various quotes, Homeprotect was the outstanding choice, with options available. Once selected a fast, simple call to Homeprotect was really rewarding with advice regarding level of cover. The person I spoke to also took into account my using power of attorney on behalf of the property owner, and checked that this was in order. They were extremely helpful.A superb experience with professional helpful staff, and last of all was the extremely competitive price. I would highly recommend Homeprotect.

It was time to renew our building & contents insurance. With the hike in premiums this year, I found Home protects quotation refreshing. The process was simple, and the documentation arrived swiftly electronically. Highly recommend them, though yet to see (hopefully won’t be needed) to see how they perform with a claim!

I'm afraid Home Protect did not provide a hassle free renewal experience. Yes, their renewal quote was a good price, and I renewed on line using the usual box tick procedure. When the renewal came through in the post I spotted a mistake in the list of declarations - their mistake. I had to phone them to correct it and they charged another £28 because I HADN'T had subsidence in the last 10 years - can't understand that at all. Then, having already taken payment over the phone (plus the extra £28), they sent a letter saying they hadn't received payment and I wasn't covered. Another phone call and wait (while the supercilious man's voice went through the usual rigmarole) I finally spoke to someone who said yes they had received payment...! The impression is that their left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing. The process was exasperating and time wasting to say the least. I don't think I could bear to go through it again so I've made a note to myself not to renew with Home protect next time.

The application process was seamless and I was covered in no time. Excellent interface and the premium for building and contents insurance was the best out there, particularly as I own a stone cottage and it is generally a lot more expensive. Fully recommend.

I received another competitive renewal quote for home & contents insurance from Home Protect where a very good level of cover is provided. The customer service staff were helpful with one stand out staff member through whom I secured my policy going forward. So with a special thank you to Alice in Customer Services for the help & clear explanation about one of the questions on the Home Protection on-line site which I found a little confusing & where it had occurred to me to check before completion.

When looking for my home insurance for the new home I'm buying, this company was by far the best quote spotted on Compare the Market. I now have the maisonette covered for the whole year at a very reasonable price. My documents also arrived so quickly once I'd taken out the policy so I could pass it straight on to my Conveyancer. All in all, a lovely straight forward way of setting my mind at ease.

Terrible experience - claimed on storm damage back in Oct, absolutely no denial that there was a storm, they'd send out an assessor. Took them 3-4 weeks to do so, and the assessor then failed to register the report with them so another delay... And now they are trying to claim that there was never a storm. Still sitting with a hole in my roof, and the lack of repair has caused further damage. Phones also not working when I call.
