Good community, very welcoming. I was brought up in the Mormon faith. I don't really go anymore, though I like to drop in sometimes to see old friends and I still have family that are Mormon. The building has a basketball court, like pretty much all the ones in the UK I have been to and growing up Mormon I have been to a few. There are missionaries who can give lessons if you want them to. The missionaries save up before going on a mission, it's not a free ride. Men serve a two year mission while women serve just 18 months. There are also couples missions for much older people. No one is forced to serve a mission, it's there choice. The church has a good youth activity. There are dances, meet ups and of course scripture study, again if you want to get involved. My reason for visiting this time was to see family and conference was on too. Conference is when there is a live broadcast from Utah USA. The quorum of the 70 and the quorum of the twelve speak at these conferences. The quorum of the 12 represents the 12 apostles, as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe that the church today should be set up today as it was in Jesus's time. The quorum of the 70 are there to replace members of the quorum of the 12 when they pass away. So as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is set up how it was in Juses's time, the church believes we still receive revelation from God, so there is a present day prophet. I think it is Monson now, but I am not sure. When the prophet dies, they pray to see who the next prophet will be. The next prophet comes from the quorum of the 12. Mormons don't just have the Bible, they have a few more books as well. One of them is the Book of Mormon, which is where they get their name from. Mormon was the man whe buried the plates which is now the Book of Mormon hence the name. The Book of Mormon is a record of the people of the Americas.
