1star/clean floors No after careIn hospital for MAJOR surgery! Care and attention whilst in hospital good. But less than a day later your despatched to zero support and a carrier bag of equipment to use at home like you are in a field hospital in the Crimea War.However for the brief time your in this kind of hotel/hospital; from cleaners to nursing staff attitude and customer service is great. But NO AFTER CARE. You are sent home with a carrier bag of bandages wound repair equipment. Like you are leaving for a battlefield and you are!Everything is hurried on departure like you are in some kind of hotel. Some women who had hysterectomies on the ward went home to nothing too.So great while your in there but once home forgotten. It's a conveyor belt so if it's a hip replacement etc or something simple ok. But being let out to the abyss at home is scary and problematic.Thank God for your own GP's service. And other NHS servicesOnce the hospital pain relief wears off once you are HOME ALONE. It's agony. So routine surgery yes ✓Any major surgery No XThe surroundings are new and shiny. But the aftercare is hurried and missing.I imagine it's a bit like getting Turkey Teeth" abroad great whilst your in the hospital. Not so good

My daughter was hoping to go to the friarge for the birth of her baby, when the time came, she was in too much pain for the journey.. so went to james cook hospital instead. The midwife that looked after her was actually one from the friarage called Alice, what was so nice of her was, she brought some of the experience you get at the friarage, along with her to make the room more tranquil it was just these intimate touches that made the experience just that little more relaxing. . We felt like we were there anyway thanks to the lovely midwife. .so I'd like to give her a huge THANK YOU, for what she done for my daughter and to give her the best experience of giving Birth. . Thank you Alice xx

Lovely little hospital, very prompt and personal care. All staff and volunteers we came into contact with were helpful and caring. I’d be happy to travel to get this level of care.

Lovely hospital with lovely, friendly staff. You are a person here, not a number.

All the staff were lovely. We went to the urgent treatment centre as the husband broke his wrist. All the staff were brilliant. He received the best care. We've had 3 visits to Scunthorpe hospital to compare too and friarage was SO much better.

2.5 hour wait at A&E to be sat in a treatment room (the first one) opposite the communal PC's. I watched 4 nurses and 2 doctors discuss the need for a fridge monitor for 20 minutes (there's a clock on the wall behind them, as someone had left two put of date yoghurts in the fridge!Worse was the female doctor, everyone else was asking questions of, constantly blowing her nose and continue to use the pc, she eventually used the hand sanitiser that was 6 foot away, then immediately coughed in her hands and continued to type! Meanwhile the male doctor scratched his backside and didn't sanitise his hands despite being stood next to the sanitiser!! No hygiene standards at all

Couldn't do x-ray on the day. I had to go back, got ultrasound the next day, and then had to wait 2 hrs for someone to tell me what was going on.Staff lovely but waiting time a bit long.
