The Rabbit Hole Independent Book Shop
The best bookshop there is, really supportive of independents and running lots of events! Welcoming faces happy to either leave you to browse or have a natter and help you pick. They have the best children's book area I've ever seen.

Excellent customer service. This is my first time visiting the store and I was blown away as soon as I walked in. It was absolutely beautiful inside, with just so many books on offer, and a very inviting play area for the younger children. The lady working today (sorry I did not get her name) was so helpful. She came to my assistance straight away and asked if she could help. She was able to relate to exactly what it was I was looking for and found the perfect books for me. I know my children will love visiting this shop and I wish I had discovered it sooner.

Brilliant service this morning!I telephoned the store on the off chance looking for a specific special edition book following the cancellation of my pre-order through a high street store. The lady who I spoke with at The Rabbit Hole was lovely and as luck would have it, they had just one of two copies left of the book that I was looking for.The lady was more than happy to set this aside for me as so I could travel and collect it.Thank you team rabbits!

Fabulous place! A must for children of all ages even those on second childhood. Smaller children can cuddle the Tiger (of tea fame). Owners welcoming and friendly. The Rabbit Hole does much more than sell books. Support for local artists, local young people, musicians, poets etc.**Normanby Hall Arts Festival coming in September **

The Rabbit Hole Independent Book Shop
A beautiful, quiet and intimate place for lovers of literature and culture. The front of the store and entrance section is detailed for children and younger readers with a dazzling array of displays and funky features such as an arts and crafts table. This section leads up a couple of stairs to the till and more books, with a doorway on the left moving onto stairs to the first floor, with more bookcases and displays along the way containing more mature fare. The small staircase takes you to the older readers section with books on science, politics, art etc. The variety is excellent for such a relatively small space; this joins to a larger room facing onto the mainstreet outside and contains second-hand books as well as vinyl records and CDs. There's a neat beanbag on the floor, and across the upper walls are music memorabilia (which a particular focus on legendary prog band Marillion). Lots of pamphlets and leaflets spread about advertising local events. The staff were bright and cheerful, making me feel very welcome. This is a fantastic place to hang out as well as to shop for more eclectic books, a very worthy local place to treasure.
