Cafe Au Chocolat

Popped in here on a whim to kill time and grab a quick bite.Staff really friendly and lots of seating available.Menu had a good selection of things to choose from and the team were very accommodating when I wanted something a little different to the menu choice. Really nice crepe but I think the bananas had been frozen or were super unripe as they were pretty solid and tasteless. The strawberries,however, were superb.Did have to chase my coffee order but it was a busy day!

Good coffee and excellent chocolate and just far enough from the Christmas crowds to get a seat.

Great place, very busy when we visited i dont know if that is the reason the service was a bit slow. There was a problem with the till, it put on orders that we didnt order, but the manager came and sorted it out. But will definitely go back again

Previously visited for a cuppa and enjoyed it so chose to go back for lunch.....Ham and Chees croissant littlerally just that. Dry tasteless packet cheese and ham with no butter in a cold stale packet croissant. So much for freshly prepared; even just a bit of salad on the side would be nice ...... First pot of tea was undrinkable, replaced eventually. Coffee was tepid.On the plus side the crepe was OK".Service slow but OK but all the team seemed thoroughly miserable.Expensive for what was served and overcharged compared to advertised price with no refund given (sign simply removed with no apology!).It could be so nice but really rather disappointing. Probably why there were plenty of seats available on a rather busy city Saturday lunchtime."

The combination of boiled pear, pungent blue cheese, and crunchy walnuts is fun. The galette isn’t dry even without the crème fraiche and isn’t oily at all, unlike most savory crepes. The dough itself is nutty and toasty and really shines without the sour cream. Salad is fresh and crispy.Service may not be quite welcoming but is indeed helpful. On our day visit to Cambridge with friends we stopped by Cafe Au Chocolat for lunch, we were greeted with a friendly smile from a member of the staff, extensive menu at very reasonable prices, food was excellent.Would highly recommend.

We popped in open-minded. We are local to Cambridge but had never seen this cafe before. We both had a lovely eggs royale crepe that left us full for the rest of the shopping day. A calming atmosphere, good coffee, lovely staff. Great service, no long wait, all was just perfect. A rarity for Cambridge, as usually service around here is really poor, food likewise. Chapeau to this place, well above Cambridge standards.

My visit with brother was random pop in, to check it out new place we haven’t eaten yet.. And let me tell you it was very expensive visit.. for student who have depths to pay and no work, just study it’s no affordable place. Food was good, service also can’t complain. Even get in the end complementary candy’s from manager running around with security issues. Overall probably will not back as there was nothing special, just expensive…

As long as you don’t order the crepe, you will be good. The croissant sandwich and coffee is good, but the crepe was too thick and I can taste flour. Overall nice little cafe

Breakfast crepe to die for. Lovely presention and beautifully cooked eggs. Very friendly service and really well designed cafe.
