Formula One Autocentres - Hastings

I wanted to like this garage, as it's local and has good prices for tyres and servicing. Unfortunately, each time I use them communication is poor (promised callbacks never happen) or something isn't quite right and has to be rectified.One of the advisories said there was a nail in the tyre. They didn't actually tell me this however, I just saw it on the page. Now, having a long distance drive due the next day I asked if it could be sorted. No was the answer. The receptionist said the mechanics were too busy. Frustratingly, I can see from the MOT certificate that the test was complete before 11am but, despite not doing any investigative or remedial work they chose not to call as promised at drop-off. It was only when I had the chance to chase the result before 3pm that they tell me it had been ready since this morning. Now I had less than 2 hours to find a garage who could look at the tyre before the trip tomorrow.I took it to another garage who could squeeze me in, and they queried why it was an advisory, as the nail was a actually only a small screw wedged between the tread and it hadn't penetrated the rubber. Should not have been on the MOT certificate and what a waste of my time and their time.Unfortunately you get what you pay for and I would be wary of using again. Unhelpful and inaccurate MOT certificate.

Very helpful and polite staff, they even kept my car for me whilst I was away on holiday as it needed some work following the MOT check, I would highly recommend them.

My car had a slow puncture and visited Formula One Autocentres last Sunday; one of the few places open in Hastings on a Sunday and I was very impressed with the speedy and professional service provided.They were extremely helpful and even though they were very busy they repaired the tyre so we could carry on with our holiday. It was recommended to me by the manager of the nearby caravan site we were staying and I have no hesitation in recommending them also.

Noticed there was a nail in my tyre. Googled up for tyre shop. This was the nearest to us. Drive in unannounced. Drove out 20 minute later all fixed. Good service.

Took in for service and MOT. Broke my bonnet latch, no offer of repair or reimbursement, didn't listen to any other concerns, as the guy that worked on the car repeated back a concern i said to someone else when dropping off.Couldn't even clear the service light!? What kind of garage can't clear a service light, yes you need the right software/kit, but this isn't a shed in the garden business?If you look after your car, do not take it here. I won't ever return.UPDATE - So what's the saying, fool me once Shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Went for a simple tyre replacement, they don't have the Jack pads for my car (electric car). So I rebook for two days away and order the pads myself. Come in at the same time on the next booked day. Sorry you've arrived too late we can't fit you in.Honestly just go somewhere else.

Called on a Sunday after hitting a pot hole the night before in my taxi. RAC bought me and my wheel along to get a replacement. Friendly and efficient staff. So helpful and got me sorted and on my way in super quick time. Can’t thank them enough for their wonderful service. So glad to find someone open on a Sunday. Thank you so so much.

My mum took her Aygo in for a knocking front suspension. They charged her £79 to change a part but a month later the issue returns. She took the car back in and they changed the other side. Unfortunately after another month both were now knocking heavily. Suspecting something wasn’t right with the work she took the car to Mota Services around the corner and he quite quickly spotted Formula One hadn’t used a washer to fit the part and it was inevitably shaking itself loose. After 3 months the issue hasn’t returned so he clearly fixed it properly. What annoyed me was that Formual One just fobbed Mum off and didn’t even try to properly diagnose the issue or follow a common standard for part installation. Anyways, we’ll never go back there when there’s a cheaper and better alternative just around the corner run by a very nice and honest bloke

Very poor service, took my car in for an MOT and was told I’d hear back about 45 mins after the appointment, hours later I hadn’t heard back and couldn’t get through on the phone. Saw on the Gov website my car had failed but couldn’t contact the garage. Eventually got through and they said they couldn’t do the work for close to a week, never had this when failing an MOT elsewhere. Said they could rebook me for an MOT again when the car was fixed but wouldn’t do it until I had the car back, but it takes forever to reach them on the phone.Ended up taking the car elsewhere and they resolved the issue in 20 minutes then did my MOT which passed, wish I didn’t waste money getting one done here.
