The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

Just returned home after staying for the weekend booking in was great the reception staff were prepared for a busy evening and all.keys etc were ready and waiting the staff maintained a friendly , informative and proffesional service throughout our stay. The room was clean and tidy with the normal additions you would expect, tea coffee etc however a small fridge would have been nice. The hotel decor was average and in some places could do with a freshen up however the place was clean. We had all.our meals in the hotel.except for lunch. At breakfast there was a large choice of cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt and pastries. This along with the traditional.Scottish fry up set you up for the day. All good quality and unlimited. In the evening you had a choice of a bar meal menu or Al a carte both menus had a great choice ranging from burgers , fish chips etc to baked salmon , haggis neeps and tatties etc all.well cooked, good quality and reasonably priced. The bar had a great choice of drinks and a very relaxed ambience. We never used the spa facilities however going by the overall standards we experienced would expect them.to be good. Parking at the hotel is no.problem.if not available at the front of the hotel a short walk (50 yards ).takes you to the large overspill car park. Thanks for a really enjoyable stay and we will.be returning in the new year.

Very enjoyable stay at the Pitlochry Hydro. Staff were very welcoming and helpful from check-in to check-out. Booked a Superior Double with Scenic View, and exceeded expectations as our room also had a living-room area as well as a separate bedroom, view of the hills was very nice. Room was clean and comfortable, could do with a few little touch-ups to interior here and there. Bath and shower were clean, water pressure for shower was a bit low but still usable. Hotel Facilities, plenty of space and seating in bar/lounge areas both inside and out, as well as restaurant/breakfast area. Breakfast options were fine, nothing special or fancy but enough options to set you up for the day. Location less than a 5-min walk from Pitlochry town centre so not far away from main shops/eateries in town at all. It is up a bit of a hill from the town but there is a shortcut through trees at the bottom of the hotel grounds. Leisure facilities are open to public as well as guests, didn't use this time but plan to next time. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would definitely book again.

Lovely location, staff are friendly, excellent service. Beds are comfortable, and the rooms are warm. The only comments i have are that the coffee is awful and the food is clearly reheated from frozen/boil in the bag/instant mash, which had been sat for a while before serving.They do a decent pint of Guinness though.

Very friendly staff and mindful of my wife's disability and offered to help at dinner and breakfast. Food was lovely. Room was comfortable enough. Overall very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

A beautiful building from the outside but very tired (but large) bedroom. The staff were present but clearly just doing a job - zero interaction. The breakfast was adequate and no more. Investment and training needed - applicable to both staff and senior management

Rooms were great. We were also able to enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna within the hotel, which was a great experience. Reception staff were friendly and polite. Parking was available directly outside the hotel entrance, and there was a further car park a short distance across the road, with ample spaces.

Nice hotel , staff very friendly and helpful , swimming pool was great . Evening meal was lovely but only downfall is not getting time between courses, as soon as one course was finished the next course was out, we couldn't move after pudding! Slightly disappointed with breakfast , always look forward to breakfast when staying away but this was nothing to rave about unfortunately. Tables are quite close together so can hear couples next to us conversations!

This hotel would be lovely if it was 1970 but it unfortunately falls very short in every area apart from the staff,I've stayed in much nicer youth hostels for way less money.I couldn't even list the faults as there isn't enough room to put it all down.Such a shame as its in a lovely area

Nice hotel with great views but the hotel is in need of upgrading and refurbishment.Tried for 2 days to get an answer from reception before we arrived but with no luck.Swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi were nice.Restaurant and bar staff were friendly.

Awesome hotel - loved the pool and jacuzzi, huge family room with great little touches, beautiful dining room and bar and amazing value (bar and restaurant very well priced too). It was nice to stay somewhere that wasn't a chain, and had character, but we could also afford. I'd definitely go back.Some people mention the music nights being noisy. We were on the 1st floor during one and heard nothing.
