Barchester - Hilderstone Hall Care Home

If anyone is thinking of placing a loved one at Hilderstone Hall, ask any questions of cost at least 4 times and get it in black and white before you sign on the dotted line. Make sure of the rooms and what they cost, whether you are paying for the room or on a package of care. Make sure of how your loved one is going to pay and how much the hall will allow them to keep before they put them on a residential stay.There is a terrible lack of communication from management and a definite changing of goal posts to extract money. The nurses and carer's seem to be nice enough, perhaps not enough of them to do their job 100% . Don't let your loved one to be moved out of their room and put in a inferior one, while someone else stays in theirs, as you don't get rembursed by much, and they did it without telling or discussing with us ,but Hilderstone Hall will be still making a vast amount. After being impressed with the place in the beging, I soon realised its not such a special place after my relative died not one person from the management rang with any condolences, when we went to pick his belongings up from the hall some of the staff didn't even know he had passed.

Excellent care from dedicated experienced staff.Strong leadership structure.Clean homely environment.Manager knows every client with hands-on involvement.A safe place.

My Dad has been in Hilderstone Hall since July 21. The staff are the most friendly and helpful team I have ever experienced. My Dad is constantly reaffirming this, and my own experience is the same. I have never had a bad interaction with anyone at Hilderstone Hall. There is a daily programme of enrichment activities to help stimulate & provide enjoyment for the residents. My Dad particularly loves the outside entertainers. Barchester Group, who own the home, are refurbishing the hall currently, evidencing their commitment to providing an even better environment for the residents. I have been researching care homes in my area and visited Hilderstone Hall. This was a lovely experience, the staff were very helpful, especially Melanie the Resident Manager. The facilities were first rate and I would recommend anyone to consider taking up residence.

A dear friend of ours was recently in Barchester Hilderstone Hall Care Home, it was his first time and we were understandably nervous about what it would be like.We could not have been happier with the care he received, he was always treated with dignity, the staff were so caring and everybody was so very friendly.His room was immaculate and the delicious meals served in the dining room were full of choices.The most important thing was that Alan was happy in their care and that meant we were happy visiting him in such glorious surroundings.Thank you Hilderstone - we will be back for your delightful cakes and coffee very soon.

The manager here is very passionate about good quality care and has made changes for the better in the time she has been here..It is a lovely place to work and I would recommend giving it a try for your loved ones.

I deliver Musical Moments sessions at Hilderstone Hall and all the staff are so welcoming to me. All the residents are so content and happy whenever I visit, I would definitely recommend Hilderstone Hall.

My Mom has been at Hilderstone for almost 3 years. She is well cared for & very contentStaff are kind, caring, respectful & treat residents as friends.The entertainment is great & most people join in with things like bingo, chair based exercise, singers & love a quiz.The food is excellent, plenty of choice for breakfast, a 3 course lunch, afternoon tea & cake & a smaller 3 course evening meal. Mom often has a glass of wine with lunch which she loves.It is very comforting to know that Mom is so well cared for.

My mum was here for 7.5 years, and in that time there have been many changes and a large turnover of staff. For the most part, we were very happy with the care mum received and some exceptionally dedicated staff that we could not praise highly enough. Mum sadly passed away just after Christmas 2022, and apart from the lovely carers and frontline nursing staff, we received no communication directly from management to offer their condolences, even when I returned to clear mum’s room. Her local GP surgery sent a personal, beautiful card. So, it seems as though, despite being a long-standing resident, mum was merely a means to add to Barchester’s revenue. Another one out, another one in. As a family we certainly expected more. Much more. A very sad ending from a company that supposedly are in the care industry!

I attended the Christmas Party at Hilderstone Hall with my Mum. The singer was very good and got all the residents singing along and joining in. It was lovely to see residents having such a good time and enjoying the music. Jean looked after everyone really well with drinks, snacks etc and a great buffet. Such a success, enjoyed by residents and relatives alike.
