Smiles & son skip hire

I have been using J Smiles and son for just over a year. I run a construction company and have at least one skip at all times. James is a fantastic guy who delivers on time, collects when needed and goes above and beyond. I would and have recommended this company to friends and family. Better still, unlike a lot of the local companies, James’s skips and lorries represent his company, spot on! Highly recommended. Ricky @ Clear Cut Construction

I have used Smiles & Son skip hire many of times now and I can highly recommend them!! I definitely wont be using anyone else again. They arrived on time every time, I then needed to keep the skip a little longer and they didn't say no they just simply said thats no problem! Great Company.

Ive been phoning this company for 4 days now and unfortunately theres no one there but im moving out of my house friday as ive sold it. If the skip isnt removed by then i will be fined . But i have taken legal advice and if they dont come and collect it by wednesday 12 noon i can call another company to take it away. So they can consider this a formal notice of my intentions in that if it isnt removed by wednesday 27th of July 2022 i will have it removed and pass the bill on to yourselves for any costs incurred, you know who i am from the ammount of messages ive left you on your voicemail.Mr M

Hired a skip from this company sometime back which they delivered promptly and took full cash payment upfront. I have now been calling them multiple times for over a week for collection but they are unresponsive. Hired them in good faith and trust but completely let down by the unprofessionalism, will now have to pay some other skip company for removal. Avoid this company otherwise you will have the same stressful experience like me!

These guys fraud, once they collect the money they won't pick the phone when customers call for them to pick the waste, whenever you called always he is on another line including midnight.Extremely poor service and please don't hire these guys.

Can't say enough good things about this company.Dealt with James very polite and very responsive to messages and phone calls. Very speedy service in delivering and collecting. Will definitely be using again and recommending to all.

Absolutely let down by James, had the skip now over 2 weeks, which was meant to be an 8 yard skip and is only a 6 yard skip, yet paid for an 8 yard one.Tried more than several times to get the skip collected but all calls and messages have been ignored, we were told 4 days ago “I’m just going on a tacho break and I’ll be there by 2.30pm the latest”, I think this is the longest tacho break I’ve ever known a lorry driver to take. Would never use this company again, very bad customer relation skills. Any decent business owner would have rang and explained what the delay is, not James though.

I paid for a skip in March and it was delivered on time. I have been trying for over 2 months to get the skip collected. My house is going on the market next week and I need it off the drive for Thursday for the photographer. I have left a voicemail every day for a month. Smiles and Son are quick to take your money and deliver the skip but disappear when it needs collecting which of course is what you have paid for - disposal of the skip contents. They are therefore scamming their customers. I am now going to have pay another skip company to take the skip and dispose of the contents.Do not trade with this company, you will regret it just as I do. You will end up paying another skip company to collect and dispose of the contents, therefore having paid double. Shockingly poor company.

I phoned Smiles Skip Hire on 2nd November 2022 to pre book a 6 yard skip for 8th Nov - 16th Nov. I also sent a text to ensure confirmation and the dates also were confirmed, as the dates were important for the builder.I received a prompt text from Smiles confirming the agreed details.On 8th November at 11.25am I phoned the company and stated NO Skip had arrived. The response I received was “I am out of the office at the moment, will be back in 5 mins to chase up”I phoned again at 12.06 NO reply. I phoned again at 13.19. Still no reply.It is now the 9th November and Smiles Skips have not contacted me at all. Totally unprofessional, no communication and overall a very poor customer service. Atrocious
