I recently had a series of canvases made up at Jessops in Ispwich. The service was really friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring all pictures were suitable and advised on sizing and edging to go for, especially where the picture was wrapping round too much. Excellent service and I now have some amazing canvases thanks to their help

Some terrible reviews on here and if I had only dealt with the new girl, who’d been there for a week, I would have also written a terrible review, BUT, I got the manager, and what a lovely, extremely helpful guy he is. He refunded for a camera with no problem, sold me a different camera at the same price rather than the extra £10 that the makers said; set up the camera with wifi for me and also printed out a couple of pictures from my phone. Jessops were competitive on price for this camera and this guy has earned my loyalty because of his amazing service. Mind you, I shall alway wait to be served by him now.

Useful shop due to staff who know their stuff. I guess a photographic shop for all would be semi professional photographers who need to improve their kit. The fact its run by photographers for photographers makes it all the more special.

I travelled from Chelmsford to Ipswitch to purchase a Panasonic camera. I telephoned in the morning to confirm stock and was told that the camera I wanted they only had the display model which I could have or they could get me one in for Monday. Arrived at the store to be told they didn't have it in stock and I must have got the model number wrong. The shop has no stock shelves are empty.

I’m a photography student and as the uni facilities were closed I thought to try my luck going here for some film to be developed. Had 4 rolls of 35mm to be done and was hoping to use the prints from the service for a tutorial.Originally paid £36 for a one hour service, only to come back an hour later for the staff to tell me my photos weren’t done and I could come back tomorrow, with the difference between the one hour service and the 24 hour service refunded to me. This wasn’t a problem and I was happy to come back the next day. I went back to get a £6 refund and to find that the prints are of terrible quality. One of the rolls of film I had handed in hadn’t even been printed, and many of the prints I did get back have dust and hair marks all over them, honestly it’s really not difficult to clean negatives. There’s even one print that’s half of 2 photos where the film hasn’t been loaded into the negative carrier properly. The staff were overall really nice and quick to refund me, but this isn’t a service worth £30. Avoid.

Staff lacks technical know how on cameras and didn't feel any enthusiasm to engage into conversation. I asked for technical differences between two specific lens types but store advisor couldn't do anything more than reading out Jessops' website :-( So do your own research and don't rely on store recommendations as they weight nothing.

Unfortunately today's service in Jessops, Ipswich, left me frustrated and considerably annoyed. The service bordered on 'sharp' practice. After being persuaded to travel into the shop, rather than discuss my questions over the phone or just use the online service, and enticed in by the possibility of a better deal - if I was to talk to them in store. The deal turned out to be spending more money on items I did not necessarily want, or the same deal as the one I could have easily bought online.Altogether a wasted afternoon which has left a bad taste for any further dealing with Jessops, and staff who seemed unconcerned for wasting my time or for misleading me.

I managed to find a great camera with the help of the staff demonstrating and describing the various other similar models. I was able to try the cameras out and ended up making a bundle deal with some accessories that i needed. The store is small but it has a good range of cameras, accessories and services.

Have just had a heartbreaking experience here: handed in a roll of 35mm film, came to collect and there are specks and hairs and grit all over the developed photos, and a light spill on the corner, as well as some negatives not fully printed (when entire negative was correctly exposed). A nice member of staff offered to reprint for free and do some prints larger as apology: I left the negative with them and returned a few days later, to find new prints were worse: overexposed, different grit and hairs and dirt in new places. Left the negative again for them to print the selected larger versions for 30 mins, and these had huge scratches on them! Looked at negative with a staff member and we could see DEEP scratches and gouges on negative, clearly made by either machine error or rough handling with mechanics - completely ruined. This is HEARTBREAKING, images of family that can never be replaced. All throughout this, while staff were nice, I had to push for them to realise that this was a basic betrayal of the terms of service, and at worst negligence and incompetence. The staff are nice and well-meaning, but they have managed to destroy something important and it is not good enough.
