Lakeside Nursing Home

This nursing home is shocking, the first thing you notice when you walk through the door is the smell of urine. The second is the desperate need for modernisation. A close family member is in here and since being here has developed a pressure sore. Staff were rude to my mother in law. My mother in law had a fall here tripping over the manual handling equipment which was left outside a room.

My dad has been a resident here since 2014. The nurses and carers give first class care. They are very supportive to me and my family. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Can't thank them enough. Would highly recommend.

My Mother has been a resident of Lakeside for 4yrs+. From the first night she was made so welcomeby the staff and made to feel really at home. The managment and carers go above and beyond to keepmum on a even keel with her mental health. The manager is always there to listen and address any problems that may arise. Activities are big plus here with a variety of entertaining events keeping residents smiling.The home is always clean and tidy and well kept.And finally the kitchen staff turning out lovely meals that Mum really enjoys.

Excellent nursing and care home. All the staff from Manager Gail, to all her team do a great job enriching the lives of the residents in their care. The accomodation is lovely, and the food whilst balanced and nutrious, is well though out and always looks appealing.Would not hesitate to recommend Lakeside.

I don't know what the CQC thinks needs improvement... this place is incredible. My nana, was adamant about never ever wanting to go into a nursing home. However, rather distressingly, the home she loved for over 60 years was no longer an option for her. After being placed in 3 different care homes( that were CQC good, and were in fact utter hell holes), we became upset about her rapid deterioration both mentally and physically, and moved her into Lakeside 8 days ago. Her transformation since then has been nothing short of miraculous. Lakeside has given my nana a new lease on life, her dignity, and they have given us our nana back. After a year spent largely in isolation in her home, my nana is now busier than ever. Either being taken on walks, baking, doing puzzles or participating in any number of events that the amazing staff have planned. Thank you Lakeside, and thank you to the incredible staff for taking care of my nana, and for giving us the peace of mind knowing that our loved one is happy and healthy!

My father died 4 days after being in there. He felt unsafe. Bed rails falling off. Waiting long periods of time for response. I was called in during the night, doors all open as I entered no one around.Poor attention to hygiene, beding and care.

Excellent management and care - my mother has received very thoughtful, sensitive, personalised care. Very good enrichment activities. I have felt well supported through some difficult times.

I often visit Lakeside Care Home and I'm never disappointed! Staff are brilliant, there's always plenty of activities going on and residents always look to be very happy and always have positive things to say about the place. It really feels like one big family.

i have worked at lakeside since February 2008 i feel i have always been treated fairly and respected the whole team do a great job. The home does a lot of activities including pet therapy. they always encourage you to better yourself doing courses etc. The residents are always well cared for and are happy in the home. We always put our residents at the centre of what we do

Amazing care provided by all the staff! Gail leads an extremely strong team who really treat each resident as an individual and make them feel special and love.
